Noticed a lot being said about Texas block against Baylor. Texas is a much improved blocking team since conference began and Brionne rejoined the lineup. 3 players in the top ten b/s if you only take conference matches. Baylor is still a notch above, but not as much as I'm assuming people think based on earlier in the season. I think if Texas gets the right hands in front of Pressley front row, they can slow her down enough.

I don’t think Texas beats Baylor with the same outcome they beat an injury-ridden Iowa State team. If ISU can take a set off of UT missing some key players, a healthy Baylor team should at least push it to 5. I don't see it going to 5 in Austin, potentially in Waco, but that's just my opinion. The set they lost of ISU was awful. O'Neal hit negative in that match and overall, just a poor level of play for the team. I know someone mentioned earlier that because Baylor is #1, every team is always throwing their best at them. To some extent, I totally agree. But, Texas is Texas. They've won 7 out of the last 8 Big 12 championships. Every time they step on the court, their opponents usually play with a "nothing-to-lose" attitude. Baylor is #1 yes but I still think all the pressure is on Texas and will be until someone else is able to establish themselves as top dog. Not sure if any of this makes any sense as I'm typing it out, I'm not trying to downplay anything Baylor has done nor am I trying to make excuses for Texas' poor play at time this season. I remember when they lost the first set of the entire season to Northern Iowa and I was like what the heck. The girls love playing at home and love playing big matches at home. I think the match in Waco will be more telling of both teams. But, I wouldn't be surprised if either team won on Wednesday because they're both great teams. The Horns are five points away from being undefeated so...this should be a good one. One that the Big 12 needs! I remember when I was in college and how "up" we would get when Nebraska would come to town. We would always compete and usually win in Austin when the Huskers were clearly the superior team. That all made a lot of sense. Both of the teams are gonna feel pressure for different reasons. The one thing that may not play as big of a factor as some thing is home advantage. Baylor’s three best wins have come on the road. Coach McGuyre on traveling: "I think this year we've really loved traveling because they're such good friends. When we're traveling, we get to grow, we get to pour into each other."

Texas should have Butler commit block on Pressley
Leaving her to read the setter isn’t a good thing
Butler last year vs Wisconsin was routinely late to the pin and Wisconsin outsides had their best matches of the year due to being one on one all night.

Every team’s goal is to slow Pressley down but no one has figured out how to effectively do that this season. She’s a much better player than she was a season ago- she’s managed to increase her kills/set while also raising her hitting percentage by over 10%.

I'm on Vue and I went through the Wednesday schedule and the game is not listed. I guess you don't get to watch. I just signed up for Vue trial and can't seem to find Longhorn network in my channel list (nor bring up anything useful in searches), and when I go to espn and try to watch something on longhorn network the login to Vue keeps failing. I guess I'll try again Wednesday but it sure is frustrating.

Is the sports pack free as well if you're on trial?

Yeah, I think one of the worst things to do is say "we're going to shut her down." She's too good of a player, she's going to get her kills. You gotta do your best to contain her but not go all-in. Fields will need to be on her game. You would hope that if Pressley decides to hit hard cross that Butler will be in the right position to take that space. I think Fields needs to do a better job at pushing over. If Jhenna gets into a rotation where she's being abused, Molly can come in to help. I would argue she's probably a better blocker than O'Neal and Fields.

Pressley and Gabriel at the net against each other is a matchup nightmare Surely there’s a plan to avoid that matchup.
