Smithtown’s libero may not be having the greatest passing night, but he’s doing a heck of a job getting big digs.

I believe there’s a livestream on NFHS network. I got it last year for the state tournament. $9.99 and includes some games the rest of the way and (probably) the state tournament in Albany. Just make sure to cancel it after 1 month.

Sachem wins 15-8 to take home the Suffolk D1 title. Unless there’s a Massapequa miracle, it’ll be Sachem North at the state tournament.
Bad news if you’re McQuaid, Shen, or CNS.

Tonight's Recap (Monday 11/11)
Section 11 D1 Championship #1 Sachem North (17-0) def #7 Smithtown West (11-6) (3-2; 19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 18-25, 15-8)
Sachem North advances to the Long Island Regional against the winner of Section VIII, they should get through that match without much trouble, and be at the state tournament in Albany on the 23rd. Not their best night, no doubt that they are still the best team in the state, but this should serve as a wake up call for them. They won't get away with playing like that at the state tournament.
Section 11 D2 Championship #1 Westhampton (11-6) def #3 Hauppauge (6-10) (3-1; 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 28-26)
Westhampton advances to the Long Island Regional on Saturday the 16th. Helps when you give a D2 school of Pepperdine commit.
Tomorrow's a huge day in Division 2. The sectional finals for Section V and VI Division 2 are tomorrow night.
In Section V, #1 Churchville-Chili (19-1) takes on #2 Spencerport (15-6) for the 2A title and #2 Midlakes/Waterloo (15-7) takes on #4 Pavilion/York (12-7) for the 2B title. Both matches are at Webster Schroeder HS, the winners will meet on Thursday for Section V's spot in the D2 regional.
In Section VI, #1 Grand Island (18-0) takes on #3 North Tonawanda (13-4) for the 2A title and #1 Eden (17-1) takes on #2 West Seneca West (15-5) for the 2B title. Both matches are at Lackawanna HS, the winners will meet on Thursday for Section VI's spot in the D2 regional.
No more Division 1 action until the Section V and VI championship matches on Thursday.
There are now only 24 boys volleyball teams remaining in the state of New York. 10 remain in Division I, and 14 in Division II. We'll be down to 20 by tomorrow night.

Didn’t know squeezing past a #7 seed qualifies you as the best team in the state. They’ll definitely have trouble against the team to come out of Rochester.

Here is the link to a state/regional bracket spreadsheet. Also, I edited the original post on this thread to have the link to the state/regional brackets show up under the sectional brackets for easy access. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FqtGTkjPCkO-8OW50wq3Zm9FrSy4IPROjaYx9Xhq6bI/edit?usp=sharingFour of the 7 spots in each division have been claimed. 2 more will be claimed on Thursday, and Section VIII's will be claimed on Friday. The D1 first matchup in the regionals will be Shenendehowa (20-0, Sec. II) taking on Suffern (17-0, Sec. I) Friday night at 7:00pm at Suffern HS and in D2 Burnt Hills (15-2, Sec. II) taking on Eastchester (12-4, Sec. I) at 5:00pm, also at Suffern HS. Those matches are regional semifinals, since the Central Region has 3 sections instead of 2. Winners move on to play the Section 3 (bye this year) champions on Saturday.

I was actually thinking this would be the year that the Rochester or Buffalo team doesn’t make the state final in D1. Have heard/seen a lot of good things about the way that Shen and CNS have progressed through the year. Unless it’s McQuaid getting through from the West (current favorites), I think whoever gets through the Central Region will play the Long Island rep in the D1 final.

I think Clarence or Orchard Park may end up getting through the Far West Region this year. Yes, McQuaid won the Eden tournament, but played Fairport and Victor very tight in 4 set matches where each set was close. They played a very weak regular season schedule outside of the Eden tournament, and struggled with Rush-Henrietta on Saturday. I need to see McQuaid come out with a dominant performance over Fairport on Thursday to really believe in them. IMO, Penfield would have beaten McQuaid if they weren't upset, or the match would have at least gone 5.
