UCLA has 24 Beach 20 BYU has 20 They have 3-4 dual position guys. 8-9 pins 3 setters, 3 Liberos Pepperdine 21 8 pins, 5-6 MB, 4 setters CUIrvine 25 UCSD 22 6 MB, 11 pins, 3 S

To my knowledge no most schools don’t do open tryouts, but they will accept walk ons given the player is not going to weigh down the gym. And I’d say typical roster size is 18-22, having 24+ players just means the younger or b-squad guys getting minimal reps unless they run 2+ courts all practice
