Is there any update on this? I assume ATeam is a lock. Is the second pair decided? Nothing has changed as far as the standings go. Aprir/Alix are a lock. They could sit out the rest of the events leading up to the Olympics and still be the #1 USA team. The only thing that has changed is that quite a few events have been either canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus, which means less opportunity for the teams chasing Kerri/Brooke to make up points. There is currently one 5 Star, six 4 Stars, and three 3 Stars on the schedule for the women. But the China 3 and 4 stars will probably get canceled next, and the Brazil 4 Star is scheduled over the Latvia 3 Star, so that leaves essentially 7 more chances to get points. Claes/Sponcil are within striking distance of the second spot, only 320 points behind. One win in a 4 Star would put them in front of Kerri/Brooke, as long as they didn't also make the semifinals. Larsen/Stockmen are farther behind, 880 points out, so they would need a couple good finishes to be back in it. But with only one 5 Star left, I will probably all come down to Rome. Sara Hughes/Summer Ross have split, and Sara is playing with Lauren Fendrick now. They won a 2 Star earlier this month, but they don't have enough events left to get their 12 finishes. They could play spoilers, though. They will be playing in country quotas, and if they knock out whoever they see (right now it would be Claes/Spolcil), they would take away a chance for them to gain points on Kerri/Brooke. If Sara/Lauren can find their way into the top 3 in entry points before Rome, that could potentially setup a country quota match to see who goes to Tokyo.

I personally think Lauren and Sara are trying to achieve Mission Impossible.
They’re going to be in CQ for at least the next few events. And on top of that, they’ll have to participate in the 2* events to even make 12 events total.

Even if the two China events, the Siming 4 Star and Jinjiang 3 Star happen, there still just aren't enough events left on the schedule. For 1 Stars, it's too late for them to sign up for the Guam or Malaysia, and there's only one other 1 Star in Thailand that doesn't conflict with a bigger event (which will probably also get canceled). If nothing else gets added or taken away, they can only get to 11 finishes.

If they go to the 1* and 2*, they won’t even break even.
