I really hope we sign Henley Anderson for the '26 class so do I. as does every team and their fans in the country should LOL. I do anticipate some pin attrition at some point though. So even though we’ll lose 3 to graduation and add 3 in the 25 class, I think if one or even two of our 2025 pins are able to pass older players on the depth chart it would open up more room in 2026 than it seems there is on paper.

Texas will be in AZ revolutions gym this week looking at 2027 OH Lauren Forelli and 2027 MB Kristen Sheehy. Would be surprised if they don’t also go to AZ Storm to see 2026 MB Brooke Harwood, 2027 OH Tessa Larkin, and 2027 MB Kendall Omoruyi. Tons of AZ talent in the 2027 class. Arizona has talent in pretty much every sport and it’s staggering how much of it leaves the state. Texas has been able to take advantage of it, currently holding a 2025 baseball commit, current softball SS, WBB starting guard, two great 2023 football recruits (not to mention Bijan Robinson). Looks like volleyball may be joining the party. Jerritt hit Arizona like 20 years ago with the signing of OH, Jen Christian. Not sure we've signed any other player from Arizona since then, but he did come so close to getting Khalia Lanier's signature.

I really hope we sign Henley Anderson for the '26 class . . . local kid from Dripping Springs, good passer, future 6-rotation outside IMO. She's definitely sounded like she was interested in staying close to home. But we are pretty deep on pins, I hope she doesn't let that dissuade her. The Spears/Vander Wal double signing of 2025 makes the path look a bit more challenging for her coming in as a 2026. But if she likes Texas enough, it may not matter. She has every coach's attention though, that's for sure. she will be a Longhorn

JE & Co run a remarkably tight ship, very few leaks -- witness all the speculation about Lauenstein's status, Ella's previous injury, utter shock on VT when Carlson/Rutherford/Ames committed. And that's just this last season. Austinhorn21 has been remarkably accurate since they started posting, to the point where some (ok maybe just me) speculate that they are connected to the program or UT athletics more generally. IDK. But I like hearing their certainty on this point.

It’s more of just a hunch. #1 team in the country #1 in the country at her position JE is great a recruiting She lives 15 mins from campus Just don’t think this is something Texas loses on very often. It’s basically a Texas vs Nebraska battle. There will be competition at the pins at both schools. I feel confident she will want to stay close to home and win a few national championships where family and friends can easily watch her play.

We will get the first commitments like late June/early July after the camps right?
first big commits for '25 were Krueger on June 15 and then AVW on June 16

Not to mention Ames. It's not clear to me how many openings there are. I mean, it's never really clear to me with Texas volleyball. They have a huge roster right now, when most programs don't have nearly as many players. But I'd imagine if Texas brings on preferred walk-ons a couple of them might commit early in the process. If a young player knows, they know, but if they want to go through the process a bit (which is something I wish more volleyball players did, to be honest) then the June/July time frame might not work out for them.

As of now for Texas, she would have at least 3 years of overlap with Spears, Vander Wal on the outside and Gaido (opp) along with 2 years of overlap with Byrd and Helmers on the outside and Tomkinson (opposite). As of now for Nebraska, she would have at least 3 years of overlap with Sigler on the outside and Hunter (opposite). Two years of overlap with Pierce on the outside. Only one year of overlap with Murray on the outside. Just to compare the two situations, which can both change of course.

Yes, both will have good competition.

Kids are all for competing, but they also want to play.
