Who are in Monza? What place are they in the tournament? Orthmann and Meijners are both injured. They both are Outside Hitters. Looks like she will be playing that position on the team if she joins that team. Monza are currently on a huge winning streak and are 4th in Serie A1 with 6 wins and 4 losses. Micha Hancock and Rachael Adams played there last year. Other big names on the roster are veteran Polish setter Skorupa, Italian veteran opposite Ortolani and Conegliano cast away middle blocker Danesi. I doubt Thompson would see ANY time playing opposite with Ortolani being the staple starter. Not sure this is the best move for her right now but if she can develop her passing skills now that will be a huge boon for the USA come next quad!

I know the belief on VT is that Karch prefers Lake to Hentz but do we even know that Morgan wants to pay for USA? If she doesn't, as a Stanford grad there are plenty of options for her (most of them more lucrative and involving less upheaval than playing pro abroad). I know she's passionate about education and child development. I just find it hard to believe that if she was interested in playing at the next level she wouldn't have been in the pipeline already.

JT can definitely be as good as Ortolani, if not any better. Skorupa is not playing well in Monza, they might use their Italian backup setter (who was Carlini's backup when she was in Scandicci), so that JT can be their starting OPP. Actually JT is quite popular in Europe right now, I've seen rumours that Scandicci is also in the pursuit of her (they are not happy with Sloetjes) together with Pomi.

Whoa......Scandicci would be AMAZING! She would get to play in Champions League. I don't like Pomi Casalmaggiore as a choice due to Cuttino already being on the roster. Also Monza is in the CEV Cup which would benefit her. Poor Sloetjes.....she is just past her prime.
