That really sucks. I wanted to see UCSB play! I feel like the tournament matches shouldn't be behind pay to watch setups. The NCAA prohibits pay to view for the NCAA matches if it is streamed by the hosting school. Only ESPN may charge a fee if the game is streamed on an ESPN platform; however, I am not aware of ESPN charging a fee in the past.
This was a big issue last year. I even exchanged emails with some people in the Penn State AD to clarify the rules. The bottom line is that you shouldn't have to pay to see an NCAA tournament match.
so how are people supposed to watch those matches that are on the Longhorn Network?

great thread... can we pin to the top? maybe Odin or VT Five-0 can help? Unnecessary because I will be making one of these for the 2nd round, Sweet 16, and Elite 8. I mean you can if you want to though!

Thanks for the information! That's really good to know. Since it's on that network and I don't have a subscription for it I assume it should just be an available video to watch? Without creating an account or setting up a subscription (to cancel later).

so how are people supposed to watch those matches that are on the Longhorn Network? Or on ACCNX, SECN+, etc... The SEC Network is affiliated with ESPN, but I don't know if SEC+ is considered an ESPN affiliate.
As for the Longhorn Network and ACC Network, I don't know what their network affiliations are or if they even have any.
The Big Ten Network is affiliated with Fox Sports, so no Big Ten school is permitted to charge a fee if they stream NCAA tourney matches as the host school. A fee for those matches will be charged only if ESPN elects to retain the rights for those matches and broadcast them on an ESPN platform such as ESPN+. But again, ESPN typically does not charge for NCAA Volleyball tourney matches.
The PAC-12 Network (specifically Stanford) charged a fee last year for matches streamed from Maples. They did so in violation of NCAA rules. Hawaii has been in violation for years.

If you get SEC Network you get SECN+ as far as I know.

If you get SEC Network you get SECN+ as far as I know. I don't think so. SECN+ is the SEC Network's premium subscription service, just as the Big Ten Network has a subscription service. I get the SEC Network as part of my cable package, but I certainly don't have access to SECN+, because I haven't bought a subscription.
The question I can't answer for you is whether the ESPN rights to all these matches is also held by the SEC Network as an ESPN affiliate. In other words, even if ESPN does not put a match hosted by an SEC school on an ESPN platform, can the SECN charge the fee as an ESPN affiliate? I just don't know. You might want to contact the SEC Network for that answer.

Is Dish available via internet, like Sling, Fubo, etc.?
