So which USC player is going to follow Crouch to Auburn? It looks to me (based on what’s posted on RK) that Auburn’s incoming class is better than USC’s. #semisnark #butreally

Was originally committed to Oklahoma in high school and always wondered how she ended up at FAU. Should be a good arm for Bama. Played club ball with Fields and Zelaya at HJV

Madelyn Robinson Junior OH from BYU is in the transfer portal. Has withdrawn from classes at BYU and is visiting other colleges with UTAH being the first. Robinson has chosen Utah, and will play for them next season.

I'll miss watching her play for BYU, but that seems like a nice outcome for her.

Good for Robinson, but I think she'll be on the bench a lot. I honestly think BYU will be better off too, as I just don't think it was going to happen for her there.

So which USC player is going to follow Crouch to Auburn? I can't think of anyone who would purposefully choose to go to U$C only to transfer and spend the remainder of their collegiate career in Auburn, Alabama. If Brent Crouch had THAT kind of appeal, he wouldn't have left/forced resigned from USC.

Madi Robinson choosing Utah reinforces my “bad feelings” theory. Like it was more about sticking it to BYU than getting to play. BYU to Utah, Utah to BYU transfers don’t happen very often. Last one I remember is Sunny Tonga. She transferred to play with her sister at BYU. Probably early 2000’s.
I’m sorry to see her go, but didn’t really see ever being their go to hitter. She did an admirable job playing wherever she was needed.
Surely she will redshirt next year? No OH spots next year at Utah with Drews, Weatherinton, and Koerber all returning. Oh, and Megan Yett if the wings is she’s healthy.

Transfers get 5 again, the ones taken prior to enrollment do not count against you. What constitutes an official visit? If a transfer lives an hour away from campus and drives there, university pays noting, is that an official Visit? There are a lot of differences between official and unofficial. Easiest way is to ask what is a violation. Do you have a specific question in terms of a violation?

Oh, and Megan Yett in the wings is she’s healthy. I guess she could redshirt. That would make sense because I agree that she just isn't close to as good as the three in front of her. And I agree that I don't think she was ever going to be BYU's primary option. She couldn't even definitively win the battle with Ballard-Nixon for the second outside hitter spot. I was thinking about this the other day, and BYU went from a Roni-Jones Perry/McKenna Miller combination to Miller and Robinson. So Robinson effectively was RJP's replacement. No wonder the team struggled so much offensively last year. Olmstead would never admit it, but I bet she's secretly elated that Robinson decided to transfer. Better to have her scholarship for a better player and her playing time to allow the outside hitters from last year's class to develop.

Would Robinson be on scholarship at Utah?

Would Robinson be on scholarship at Utah? Hard to say, but I think it's unlikely. If I was Launiere, I wouldn't be interested in giving a scholarship to a junior who hit .204 in a worse conference.
