That makes ssoooo much sense and how perfect would that have been. I've always of course suspected that but I haven't heard either side confirm it. As if they would. Omaha is a great town. Creighton is a good job with an awesome AD. Would have been cool to see an all-female staff at Stanford. KBB would have brought Angie (if she didn't get the Creighton job) and I assume a part of any negotiation with Stanford was predicated on keeping Denise.

It’s a risk to hire women?? I just checked the Ohio State site. They seem to have done a good job of hiring women for the women's sports. The determination eventually comes down to how Ohio State views volleyball. I don't think they would hire a woman if they thought volleyball was one of the major sports. If they treated it as a minor sport then they could probably make a statement. Why not?
And how is hiring a woman surprisingly bold or disrespectful/impudent? I'm not following this at all.

The only thing I can think of is that Ohio State is in the Midwest and she appears to have spent virtually her entire life in that region of the country. California isn't for everyone. Though she's been at Creighton for 17 years and just may have no interest in leaving for any program other than maybe Nebraska.

While Stanford is obviously a wonderful school and volleyball program, there are not many head coaches with families that could afford to live there.

Doesn't the university subsidize the coach's housing? If you take that expense off the table, coupled with a head coach's salary, I don't think cost of living was prohibitive for any of their volleyball candidates.

Yes, a set of nice homes were constructed on campus for coaches. I believe Kevin Hambly is still using one. He would either be renting at a very reduced rate or rent is free. Not certain of tax implications and how IRS treats this as income.

Hardly a surprise Carlston is out at OSU.
This is the guy who indirectly helped to steer Ndiaye to UCLA. Sealy should send him a thank you card

Sullivan, if interested, might be another possibility, should they decide to roll the dice. Again. If Sullivan wanted to be a head coach and actually do the work that entails, he would've been one by now.

Well, that quote is messed up.
I agree that I am sure Sullivan has had opportunities in the past. But this isn't an ordinary opening. He might be tempted, if asked.
