South Dakota beat UTA 3-2 to advance to the semifinals of the NIVC, lead by 23 kills by freshman OH Elizabeth Juhnke. USD is 5-0 in five setters this season (Iowa, Omaha, Denver, NDSU, and UTA)
The Coyotes will face the winner of Thurs. night's Weber State @ Tulsa match.
On the other side of the bracket, Georgia Tech swept their home match against Liberty fairly easily, and they will face the winner of Thursday's Colgate @ TCU match.

If anyone is interested, I compiled a list of the top 16 teams in the NIVC in terms of home attendance. This is relevant to campus-site invitation tournaments, among other factors like seed/RPI, in determining host. I have found that not just your season average, but your round-by-round attendance can be a factor in hosting later rounds. Obviously this can impact the outcome of the match, as well.
Best average home attendance for NIVC participants:
Rnk Ave Team---------(NCAA Rnk) round attendance 1. 1667 TCU -------------(#28) 000, 000, ___ 2. 1144 South Dakota--(#43) 894, 607, 820
3. 1071 Long Beach St ---(#47) 246
4. 846 Wyoming ----------(#62) 520, 559
5. 786 Bowling Green ----(#70) 402, 323 6. 739 Georgia Tech ---(#78) 537, 402, 523
7. 613 UT Arlington ------(#88) 619, 387
8. 498 UNLV --------------(#103) 9. 468 Morehead St ------(#116) 10. 466 Boise St ---------(#117) 11. 442 High Point -------(#126) 11. 442 Miami(OH)-------(#126) 13. 408 Houston ---------(#139) 14. 405 UTSA ------------(#141) 15. 395 Sam Houston St (#143) 16. 385 Troy -------------(#151)
So Wyoming was doing well until they were eliminated. South Dakota and GA Tech are getting numbers below thier average, but could jump up in a semifinal. TCU seems to have the most potential, and will get their first chance to host a team tommorow, playing Colgate.

TCU hosting Colgate @ 4PM CST. Their last three matches at home in the regular season were sellouts (2,000+), so they could potentially steal semifinal hosting from Georgia Tech with a win, depending on how much they weight the YellowJackets' better seed/record/RPI. Colgate comes in to the match as the last surviving mid-major on the right side of the bracket, and a better RPI.

TCU wins set 1 25-17, up in the 2nd 13-9... The gym holds 1,900+, and I'd guess the bleacher seen on the stream is 1/4 to 1/3 full, so maybe 500 to 600 attendance? That is very similar to what GA Tech has drawn. My guess is Tech will host the semis regardless of outcome. (stream)(stats)

I actually have no insight on either team, other than South Dakota swept them in a neutral site, early in the season. Weber State.... no idea. Anyone know something about them?

Tulsa wins matches with defense. They are an excellent-digging team and have a good pair of middles. Callie Cook is a great two-way middle. Horsfall is one of the best liberos in the country, and could become career dig leader in the American conference and Tulsa tonight. She could also break the single-season dig record in both the American and Tulsa tonight as well. Dilara Gedikoglu is the main offensive threat - a six-ro passing freshman OH from Turkey. She has a very heavy arm but she doesn't hit particularly high. Tulsa runs a 6-2 with at times inconsistent setting. Weber State seems like a very solid team - losing to Northern Colorado in 5 in their conference championship. They also swept SMU in the non-conference. I don't know much about them - but Tulsa HC said in his preview that they have a couple players that can really take over the match, so that will be interesting to see, especially vs. Horsfall.

TCU wins the third in extra points, 30-28! wow. On to the semis. Looks like the Frogs "brushed" Colgate away with a clean sweep......

They're roster link wasn't on their site. But it could be my browser in need of an update. Also:
