If they were annoyed, why didn’t they tell her to leave and let the coaches have time talking to the players?

If she were just a passionate alumnus she wouldn't be allowed in the bench area...or are they planning on building a bigger bench area for the rest of the "just passionate alumni" Why do we forgot context. Do I have to list out her accolades every single time? She is a passionate alumni of this team. Her passion and accolades doesn’t change the inappropriateness of it. You are not a player or a coach. I don’t question her motives, it is however an intrusion.

Anyone saying this is a rules violation without quoting an actual rule is an idiot. I would really love to know what rule she was breaking. While we're at it, I'd like to know why you care. She wasn't giving tactical advice; it was lighting a fire. If you truly believe what Khat Bell said in that house huddle had any impact on the outcome, you're living in Nevernever land. It’s very likely a violation of the 3-coach (plus a volunteer) max. If she said so much as “stay aggressive and take big swings”, that’s tactical feedback. As a high-level volleyball player, I find it almost impossible that she gave no tactical feedback like the example I gave above. That being said, I don’t think it made a difference in the match and it’s an extremely minor NCAA violation that warrants no more than a slap on the wrist and the NCAA telling Texas to be more proactive about not letting it happen again. I screamed at the team, "C'mon let's go Longhorns. Block that ball!"
I confess to being the 2000th (illegal) assistant coach on the floor that night.

If they were annoyed, why didn’t they tell her to leave and let the coaches have time talking to the players? Well she put coaches in an unbelievably awkward position which is part of the inappropriateness of it.

While there may not be a “specific” rule (it’s that unprecedented” there are plenty of general rules, guidelines that suggest she shouldn’t be on bench addressing team. Let’s put it this way, a director of ops wouldn’t be allowed to do that.

Goldy Gopher was not even allowed out of a taped area -- probably 8x15' or so -- last night (nor were the Creighton cheerleaders). There is no way this was legal.
But, as others have said, that's not the interesting part of this story. The interesting part is Elliot et al allowing it. But I see that Elliot is still occupied trying to get the crowd to make more noise. He's busy with his pom poms.

"For preliminary- and final-site competition, mascots must stay out of spectator seating areas. They shall otherwise remain in an area designated by the tournament manager with the approval of the committee. Use tape to designate the boundaries for spirit squad. They are not permitted to roam the stands or the arena, even if that is their normal practice during home matches. However, they may lead their team onto the court" "A maximum of 12 cheerleaders and/or spiritsquad members and mascot are allowed on the floor at any one time when the match is not in progress. For preliminary-round competition, the location of the cheerleaders and/or spirit squad members will be determined by the NCAA site representative after a review of the facility layout."
