WahineFan44 doesn’t know because @bigwestfan2 hasn’t told him yet. Lol probably private messages others constantly asking for insider information. Jcvball probably told him. Constantly no? But I have made some friends on here who are willing to share with me. You know, because I’m not an absolute troll like you. I know it’s a hard concept to grasp at times. People tell me things because I’m not a blabber mouth who likes to Go around posting information that isn’t mine to post, or announcing things before an athlete does. I’ve usually ignored you, because that’s what’s best, but you have become quite tiresome as of late.

I'm thinking a DS might be a better fit for NE, but where do u get a DS transfer with the skills they need. Players with that skill set could start at libero on many teams. Maybe a 6 rotation OH/opp that wants to transition to DS or add to their DS resume. Just speculation on my part, no tea here.

It’s Nebraska..... you’ll get players willing to walk on just to play there aka anikka A. I have 0 doubt in my mind, even with no tea, that Nebraska will get the transfer they need, even without a schollie offer and that player having offers from other schools.

So question to Husker VB fans. Who coined "Going to the Ship"? Was that a NE player or was it around before then?

Sure, Nebraska could get a good DS as a walk-on. However, they have scholarships to play with. They’ve got two openings right now, pending any other departures. Even though NU missed out on Fleck, it’s abundantly clear that they’re ready to throw the kitchen sink at worthy prospects. That means full ride offers. The waiting game now is characterized by seeing when the next DS enters the portal that warrants a scholarship offer. We’ll see.

Like I said, Nebraska could get a quality DS as a Walk On pretty easily, but the fact that a potential scholarship is in play, makes it even better. Even if t hey do not start, the fact that they get to play in an eviroment like Nebraska, under cook, is enough of a selling point to ALOT of people.

Thinking that Fleck was not a good fit for Nebraska, but her highly publicized recruitment put out the word NE is looking. Again just speculating. Nebraska didn’t host Fleck for the sake of publicity. Agree she is a tremendous athlete and volleyball player. However, I think she will be happier playing for UCLA. Thus a better fit there. Thus her choice is not surprising. My main point is that NE unsuccessfully recruiting Fleck and Fischer is not without benefit. Coupled with JC saying they are actively recruiting, puts the word out to players that might be interested. But again, this is just neophite speculation.

The Banquet was last night. Not to divulge super secret stuff, but John Cook let those in attendance know the team's 2020 goals are to win the Big Ten and to get to the Final Four in Omaha.
Sorry for spoilers.
Megan Miller, Anezka Szabo and Chen Abramovich were absent. Other players who announced their transfer prior to the Banquet have attended in the past, so I was hoping we'd get one last chance to say goodbye, but no dice.
Kayla Banwarth was there (with friend), as was Beau Lawler. Kayla said goodbye and it was clearly emotional for her. She got a nice round of applause. She is learning the "Hotty Toddy" thing and says Ole Miss is surprisingly a lot like UNL. Cook said he expects her to excel there, and she offered to come to Lincoln to play - but she wants a couple years to get her feet under her first.
Dennis LeBlanc's academic presentation took a LONG time, as usual. The girls do very well in class and there were a lot of things to talk about. These are a bunch of smart kids.
No Seniors meant no Senior Speeches, so your team Captains got up and spoke about the last season, the China trip, all kinds of stuff. Some emotional stuff about Dane Leclair. Some funny stuff about climbing the steepest part of the Great Wall - and how Cook beat nearly the entire team to the top. He got up fast enough to give the players high fives as they arrived at the summit. They promised to watch Top Gun while listening to Pearl Jam.
Not even a whiff of a hint that Cook may be thinking about retiring. So that put my mind at ease.
Jaylen Reyes was there, looking dapper in his shirt & tie. Baylor said Jaylen needs to wear that on the sidelines, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Not sure what else to tell you. Cook put the team to work handing out wrist bands at the end. Those who chose to wear heels were regretting it after walking through the whole crowd doing that chore.

Fleck loved the California beach too much to leave. It was always going to be a long shot in my mind. I’m certainly not surprised she chose UCLA.
