EVERYONE has written her off...I think she will surprise us all when she ends up in Tokyo. I think it will be a Carlini/Hancock duo. I think it will be Poulter/Hancock and Volleytalk will bash Karch for next 4 years. If the USA doesn't medal in Tokyo....Karch won't be around anymore. And this will likely all happen if Carlini isn't on that roster. The team has looked it's best when she is running the offense.

Carlini is playing as bad as Carli Lloyd this season in Moscow. In Russian Leaguge, Moscow is ranked 5th. Moscow used to be top 2 every season. Moscow lost in 3 sets against Cannes in Champions League. Poulter is playing some good volleyball with limited hitters. She won against Novara&Hancock last week. Hancock is not my fav setter, but she was amazing during World Club Championship. Setter spot for Tokyo is still on the table. Why Poulter played as starter in World Cup might be actually she is better than Carlini lately... I would like to see Hilley in VNL for a week. I though going to Moscow is a bad move for her at the very beginning. If she wants to continue her development, she should stay in Italy. Even a low-ranked team is better than Moscow because the level of competition in Serie A1 is just a whole another level. Moscow is in 5th because they lost their first two matches before Carlini joined the team with Sheshenina (Babeshina) setting. They'd be 2nd/3rd if she was there the whole time. Goncharova went down early in the first set in the loss to Cannes. Also, Moscow's lefts aren't great. Scherban/Havelkova is a tough combo and their middles aren't very versatile. The team has been riding Gonch alone for several years now.

Poll Updated! I tried to include all setters we saw in the NT gym this quad and some that are playing professionally that could garner an invite to train as well as some NCAA talent that could make the try-outs.

Jenna Gray is not going to be available, nor have time, to be in the USA gym for VNL. She'll be participating for Stanford T+F: preparing for US Olympic trials in the javelin. AND, perhaps, Tokyo! ToddyJ This I am aware of. Does that mean she wouldn't tryout anyways....even if it were for next year and the following quad? Does she have any interest in playing volleyball at all in the future?

She does but won't be available for training for 2020 VNL. The qualifying trial for javelin is on June 26th. I'm sure she won't have time for volleyball until after that. If she qualifies, she won't have time for the rest of the summer either. If she doesn't qualify in the javelin, maybe (if the USNT is interested in someone who won't be available until ~July).

This I'm not privy to. What I can say, for it's fairly common knowledge, is that she will have a busy June: finishing her Finals; going to Oly Trials; plus moving out of SU. And she'll be "walking" w/her graduating class at Stanford's Commencement ceremony.

Sadly, we won’t get to see that with Karch disallowing her top spin jump serves. Sad.

I know Gray will likely pursue Javelin and not Volleyball but for the sake/fun of this thread...let's say she chooses volleyball. She said she wanted to play pro lol

Who is this other Elite setter you speak of? Also (no offense meant) if Oleksak is so great why did her team get eliminated in the first round of the tournament? Not enough supporting players? What went wrong for them? Orr IMO is the next elite setter. Her younger sister is better, Carlini /Poulter / SSS will be the setters through 2024, after that, maybe They are still there but will be accompanied by kennedi Orr, Hilley.
