Bring on 2020!
It’s gonna be a great year. I can feel it.
We graduate outside hitter Madison Duello, libero Tiffany Clark, setter Mallory Dixon, and DSs ME Dodge and Sarah Dodd.
We also bid farewell to DSs Riley Bell and Emma Whitehead, both of whom are medically retiring.
We welcome three talented freshmen: Jade Demps, MJ Hammill, and Devyn Robinson. They’re joined by two grad transfers: Deahna Kraft, a beach volleyball All American from Pepperdine, and Giorgia Civita from Wichita State, who was the 2018 AAC Libero of the Year.
January, 2021 update: It seems I jinxed us with my “great year” talk. Here we are, getting ready for a spring season like no other. There are some new additions to the practice gym for this semester: 2021s Anna Smrek and Lauren Jardine graduated early. We also have DS transfer Sydney Reed, the 2018-19 Virginia Gatorade POY and member of the USA Women’s Junior National Training Team, who played her freshman season at North Carolina. All three will take classes and train with the team this spring, but none will be eligible to compete until fall 2021.
