I have no knowledge of the situation at Mizzou, but it must be anchored in racism, everything else is lately. 2020 was the year of covid. 2021 is rapidly developing into the year of racism. The country is a mess and maybe volleyball too. Just my ignorant opinion, but at least I don't claim otherwise. ...as if every other year didn’t have racism?

This poster has a problem with the word 'homegirl' as he makes reference to in a couple posts. That would make me question and assume some other things about them given their other posting, but I'll keep that potentially ignorant opinion to myself. The other post above yours needs no addressing if anyone is familiar with said poster. Homegirl? See that used for various players, that don't seem too home girlish to me. Collegiate players lead a pretty outgoing life IMO. So I find it confusing, but probably just me. Edit: On second thought, the team was confined to their "bubble" this last season, so maybe "homegirl" applies. Hope they are done with that.

What bothers me about the above posting is this is the EXACT REASON many athletes and people of color don't speak up along with of course the potential retaliation discussed about on prior pages.
There was clearly something going on at Mizzou, everyone knew. Now we have people coming on here and while they aren't explicitly saying these things are false, they are hinting at potentially discrediting or adding skepticism into any allegations of discrimination because 'racism' is now a trend in their eyes. It's inappropriate especially in a scenario where there's a terrible smell coming from a program whose original hiring scenario was already fishy.

It’s because you can’t just start accusing people without proof. Their is a way our justice system is suppose to work. People want to see actual evidence. We are convicting people with mob justice right now. I’m not saying this person is or isn’t guilty. It’s a very serious charge and the responsible thing to do is gather as much evidence as you can before completely destroying peoples lives. Their is 0 wrong with asking a lot of questions. It’s the responsible thing to do before making a judgement

Well this is just incredibly ignorant.

It's INCREDIBLY COURAGEOUS for players to put posts on social media even hinting towards and referring to racism, discrimination, and belittlement experienced by coaches while they are in the portal and have not even officially transferred to another university. Even that potentially jeopardizes an offer and could turn off other coaching staff. No, they did not explicitly tag their coaching staff individually, but it's really not necessary. Anyone who has been paying attention knows something is array at Mizzou.
Apparently (at least) Fuentes and Hollingsworth-Santana were not afraid and brave enough to share those opinions, while the coach deleted his social media accounts.

I think this thread is a demonstration of why meaningful discussions on racism are difficult when there are differences of opinion. Very strong feelings. Moderates stay out. Not a good situation and not conductive to resolution. But what do I know, I'm just an old guy who doesn't understand what "homegirl" means, which apparently makes me suspect of something nefarious.
Whatever the problem is at Mizzou I hope it works out for the best for student athletes. I could see potential for a lot of problems with a very young husband and wife coaching team. Suspect Mizzou will address the problem, whatever it is, shortly.

Moderates are what balance things out

It makes you look even dumber.

The same ones who were criticizing other posters for their comments about Koerber are the same ones who are saying "well, racism is trendy, so, just throwing that out there!"(with no other validation) in this thread. People love telling on themselves!
