^ yes, Softball.
The main takeaway is that there are probably 40 or so schools that would be higher on an elite player's list for recruitment. I would expect the same for volleyball.

Brent Hillard will get this job. He'd have to change the spelling of his name for that to be true.

Lots of famous athletes are SDSU alums including my friend 1 Chris Marlowe. ---- 1 When I say "my friend," I mean I met him and talked to him once. In 2002, I sat right in front of Chris Marlowe on a flight. Got to talk to him for about 3 minutes. It was the highlight of the flight. I slept for most of the flight, so "highlight" may have been a low bar.

Brent Hillard will get this job. Did he want it? I’d be shocked if he did. I think he loves where he is and the freedom that being an assistant has.

You can be tough, as long as you’re not toxic. Some coaches don't know the difference.

I was under that same impression. He could have been a head coach a long time ago at a much better program. He doesn't have to move. That's huge. IF he applies and the money is right... I put him in the top 3 easy.

Former SDSU player and former yeller at Wake Forest Ken Murczek is on staff. That shenanigans with Wake Forest and Ferguson kind of makes him not so terrible after all.

Posted this week by the NCAA: web3.ncaa.org/lsdbi/search/miCaseView?id=100185Level II violations regarding "voluntary" workouts, improper recruiting contacts, and some camp stuff. DCP would've been suspended for the first two matches of 2020 anyway. Incoming coach will have to deal with some of these repercussions. A year of probation, reduction of official visits, a reduction of practice hours and reduced recruiting contacts.

I don't mean for major infractions, but can they get penalized for little things (like rules they didn't know they were violating)?

If they accept a meal that isn't legal, they'll need to donate the value of the meal to a charity. That's about as severe as it gets. The schools are responsible for knowing and following the rules, not the kids.
