Noticed Walmart.com is solid on $34.99 for the “I guess, old Wilson” prior to our new “coveted” OPTIX coming out this year. Anyone have any other sources for this ball (lower price) and this post is “open to predictions” on the supply/demand schedule of said product…. I placed excessive quotes for those that “don’t get enough of them” on my posts (LOL-no quotes). Anway, Beuller . . . Going DOWN?

I'd be wary that it is actually the legit, decent Wilson ball - we use it in our backyard sand court, and I've never found them for less than $45 or so.

Other than the "Vietnam ball" problem of a year or two back, I think what you order on Amazon and Walmart are the real deal. This happened when the current ball was inducted and there were "deals" I saw friends get WAY more than 1/2 off. Not sure how long it will take for the OPTIX to take over the Cali beaches, but at least two years, so these old/current balls will be in play for a while IMO....Walmart, #1 marketer in US, is WELL aware of where this ball is going, probably, so $35 ish is probably top dollar from now on for this "gem". Within a year, I'm sure we'll see some "buy 4, $20 each", but you never know... |

Wilson site lists 64.99 "coming soon", evidently, per Casey P, tomorrow...It IS winter, this is big news :-(

Bought one off of Amazon for $34.99 right before Christmas and got the real deal. Even was made in China so I didn't have to worry about the quality issues of the ones from Vietnam.

Yeah, we let our supplier know on DAY 1 of the Vietnam ball. Most of us were "funny color", but one of my group's players, an M.D., was having "none of it". From then on, it was "persona non grata" on the beach, and still is...What a blunder with that manufacturing plant in Vietnam. What do they get, specs on the product and then "work out a "similar" version . . . hahaha....never seen anything like it, EVER! |

I bought a few at the sale price. I wish I had bought more! But my wife probably gets annoyed since I've got a dozen balls still in their boxes and multiple bags of balls lying around  |

The new ball is slightly smaller, no one will be using the old one soon. Enjoy that discount on an obsolete ball.

Depends on where you are but a lot of people below the "open" level choose to stay with a ball they prefer over whatever the new AVP ball is. Realistically the real "official ball" of the highest level is the POS the fivb uses so most open players are actually doing the same anyway |

$38.99 on Wilson's site as of tonite. Still waiting for "the plunge" as they move to the OPTIX's, but not many on Main Beach Santa Cruz, other than the few pros we have bringing one or two.
