Watched the replay and I had to mute the sound. That was probably the worst student led sports commentary I’ve ever heard in all the years I’ve followed college sports! It’s a bad af. Yikes! No basic research on the opposing team and even proper name pronunciation and these are simple European names even Hawaii locals could pronounce! Thankfully they apologized about the reference made insulting our mascot. Sounded ignorant and uncultured and stupid students with no clue. Do you even know the significance of the rainbow in the Hawaiian culture? Of course not but it definitely was him thinking it was in reference to gay culture.

Any reason why Voss got benched? Looks like he was missing blocking assignments. Doesn’t help either when your setter (Thelle) doesn’t give you a real chance to be offensive. If Thelle can’t learn to set the middle effectively and often, there’s no way he remains the starting setter.

Lewis issued an apology.
I thought people were being unfair in the responses. They apologized. Let's move on and let them learn.

We’ve got great announcers and TV coverage crew and well... Lewis clearly does not. We survived a scare but came out on top because of our veteran starters and game heroics by freshmen Chaz and Brett who bailed out James and Jakob who had a very bad setting night. Facing Lewis on the road was our first true test of how good we are as a team (sans Cowell) vs how good we can be. Rallying our team from a 7 point deficit and setting at a .417 hitting clip is what a decent setter can do. Brett doesn’t have the bells and whistles that Joe had but he can set and he does play D and that’s what our team needs right now.

Like yeah it was tasteless, but we all have said things like that. Lewis apologized and said they would teach them for the future. Move on. It happened. Its not the end of the world.

Too many adults in the room. I'm hoping for someone to put together a highlight reel or two from their performance. So much material to meme!

They have never been tested until this Lewis team so it’s understandable that they struggled. Once they woke, they won’t give up without a fight.

Thelle will continue to learn and grow in the system. But I must say Sheward has the connection with all our hitters and the right offensive tempo. Definitely not flashy and no where near Joe but he got it. He also plays some great D and most importantly isn’t afraid to set our middles when possible! We need to spread that offensive out and I hope Sheward starts.
