MVBFAN , your numbers are very slightly off - there are 11 "Dropped" teams listed on AES (more than a few of these have happened in the last week, though there were some additions, too). There are 442 teams competing, with 192 of those in the open divisions (43%). AES Drops Accepted
18 Boys Open 43 2 41 17 Boys Open 45 1 44 16 Boys Open 47 2 45 15 Boys Open 43 1 42 14 Boys Open 21 1 20

As always, the stuff below probably interest only me. Teams with bids: 21 (through Farwest - I'm assuming if a team finished in a bid position at JBI/FW, inclusive of trickle down, then they accepted, but I've not seen an official list). 5 of these teams are competing in USA, the balance in Open (at least two of these are USA Bid holders: Uno 16s, SG 18s) Geographic Distribution of Open divisions Teams - 192 Total Teams Region Overall Open % Open

who are the top teams in this tourney HPSTL 16s 352 16s AZ Fear 16s OCVC 16s SPVB 16s Vegas 16s Vaqueros 16s? I'd add B2B 16s. Should be no lower than the overall 2 seed, having placed 2nd at JBI and won FW. I have to imagine they're looking for a rematch against SPVB from BJNC's.

I think you’ll see some competitive east coast teams in the 18’s that will be an interesting follow.
Yorktowne - Three OSU commits including 2021 stud Jacob Pasteur, and Springfield commit Austin Richards who IMO, despite going D3 is one of the top 2020 setters, along with some other D1 and major D3 guys.
LIVBC - Not really any big time guys, but they come off a 2nd place finish at BWC in 17’s last year, and a 5th place finish at BJNC. Lost an OH and middle who were young seniors last season.
The St. James (new superclub) with Francesco Sani and ACAD has some kids that can flat out play and play like beach players.

YT 18 will be in the hunt and St James & ACAD may be just outside the bids. I would say LIVBC 17 can possibly earn a bid Should be a competitive tournament.

I see 12 teams that were at JBI in 17 Open that finished in front of LIVBC17 plus all the others that didn't come to CA. Doubtful for a bid here but that is why we play the games

Sure enough, B2B drew the #1 in 14 Open. For the folks in Chicago this weekend, especially those who haven't seen this team play, keep an eye on #97 Xace Leem. He's not the only weapon on the team, though.

Looks interesting. Whoever seeded 16s put some thought into it, and it looks good overall, but... SAS-2s getting a 1 seed seems off (it may not be!)

What a great group of teams.
Safe travels everyone. Weather looks a little tricky for Friday and Saturday
