I was a interior designer ages ago, the reality in Nebraska is that even the people that can afford an interior designer are often too practical to have one. Omaha and Lincoln would be the majority of customer base. The projects in California that are huge and expensive will be limited in Nebraska. Just her cachet will attract quite a few customers, but my guess is it will be in a much smaller scale. There is no reason for her not to be able to do projects and travel, it’s difficult but it can be done. She would be ideal with flipping and staging as well, Lincoln is a great place and has decent resell...I have friends that invest in luxury rentals and flipping. They do very very well in Lincoln and Omaha. I know 50 people who have hired interior decorators in Lincoln. This argument/discussion is absurd. There is plenty of money and tons of new developments in Lincoln. I’m. beginninv to wonder if any of the people weighing in on this have ever been to Lincoln. All I did was asked what Kristin was doing and whether Lincoln can support her business. But apparently that got warped into saying Lincoln is pathetic with no market for interior design. Some of you lot need to get out more, know what I am saying?

I seriously doubt that, the point is a big project in California pays six figures, a project in Nebraska, if you’re lucky, pays 4 to 5 figures. We just don’t have the concentration of money in Nebraska and to say that doesn’t matter in interior design business is just being obtuse.

Not much of a remodeling project, but realistically NE aint Hollywood. Yah less money to be had, but cost of living much lower too. She will be able to do well.

Yes, there are interiors in Nebraska. Yes, people occasionally want help designing them and hire professionals to assist. Why that would even be a question is beyond me.
Getting Hildebrand back at Nebraska is much bigger than any off-season transfer that might arrive, don't we think?

Of course, I was just wondering what market for interior design is like Lincoln, that is a legitimate question. But they got spin in another whole tangent. What I can say. People choose to read what they want to see. Maybe that says more about them than me.

With the salary her husband will be making when he’s head coach, she won’t need to work a day in her life

I am/was assuming the interior design question and what are the tastes of the people in Lincoln was meant as a slight to Nebraskans. How possible could someone from little ol' Lincoln NE need interior designers. leedouglas.com/See the above link for another local designer. Doing a google search of Lincoln NE interior design gives you an idea of what is available and what they have done. Doing this will get you a better answer than anything someone on here is going to give you. Look, I am sorry but I think you are a tad too sensitive to construe my question as a dig at Nebraska. I have nothing against Nebraska (maybe I got an issue with one or two Nebraskan fans, but the state itself I have no comment on), I just don't know what the scene is like over there, which is why I asked the question. As for google, you do realize people are busy and don't always have time to do an indepth research and write a thesis on it? But you have time to be on a VOLLEYBALL chat board asking questions about interior design in Nebraska, got it.

I have no intention of doing a 3 month market research on interior design. I don't care about it, like I said I just was curious to know what Kristin is doing now and how her business will do in Lincoln. But instead, you choose to get upset because you thought I was belittling Lincoln. Like I said, to get ticked off by a simple question, your reaction says more about you than me. You are the one blowing this out of proportion.

IIRC, a lot of folks take gratuitous potshots at Lincoln on this forum. Maybe you were mistaken for one of those silly trolls. But also recently, I believe, a Husker fan took a potshot at Madison Wisconsin as a college town

Four figures for her designing, not for the project or the supplies. That can range anywhere from 1000 to 10,000 depending on the size of project

You are the one blowing this out of proportion. For what it's worth, that was the first question I asked in the 2020 Nebraska thread when the hire was announced. It was of interest (to me) since I followed her VB career from Stanford onwards. I wouldn't care at all if I was not otherwise familiar with her as a past volleyball player and national team member. I guess it's asked and answered at this point, she'll do fine. She posts on social media about traveling for projects in other areas, like Chicago, so perhaps she'll continue to do so. We all wish her and their family the best.
