I have not personally see Jaylen Jordan play in matches but have seen her in a camp. She is very athletic and quick and appeared to have a nice all around game. My concern is that LBSU’s better pin hitters are undersized and having a mix of Williams, Martinez, Chavira and Jordan getting most of the minutes up front leads one to believe that the better equipped teams can really exploit their size advantage. And with no starting middles returning it would not shock me if the coaching staff tries to convert an outside with a little size to middle and the prime candidate would be Kennedy who closed the season as a starter on the left. I just do not see Canez having any impact as a starting middle. I know LBSU needs to find a six rotation outside and if Jordan is that player then one of the better lefts on the team, Martinez, will not get the minutes her offensive production indicates she should get. Beach are adding two freshman middles with good size for the conference (6'4 & 6'3). That's the biggest question on the roster, no doubt but they do at least have players coming in. In terms of the OHs, Beach really needs someone who can play 6 rotations at a high level. Last year Williams was one of the worst passing OHs in the conference (36.4% good pass on 110 balls). If Jordan can lock up the OH2 spot with her all around then either Martinez or Williams will be Oppo. You're right about being undersized at the pins but with the exception of Hawaii & CP (assuming Jordan is OH1) who isn't in the BW? Martinez and Jordan were the most terminal duo in the BW this year (the only two to both be above 40% termination rate - 44.2% & 42.8% respectively). Give them Tuaniga and there's a high ceiling.

I believe Abby Marjama transferred out of UC Irvine. Yah, I need to update that. A loss for Irvine but I can't say I blame her. They put a lot of pressure on her this year without much help. They really need to build around Ofoegbu.

She could have gone to a PAC-12 school and been great after a redshirt year.

Big West Player of the Year. Bold prediction! I like it, but I suspect Camryn Moeller has a better chance of being Big 10 player of the year.

At CSUF:
*Tyler Fezzey, Sr, 6'1, OPP *Makenzi Ableman, Sr, 6'1, S
Are both graduating early and will not return.
Ashley encourages her players to attend summer school to graduate early.
Tyler and Makenzi are the 4th players in 3 years to play only 3 years because of early graduation.
I heard that Makenzi will play at St Frances Brooklyn next year. I do not know Tyler's plans.

With Bakersfield ready to become a full conference member and UCSD phasing in over several years, the bottom of the conference maybe pretty deep with very low RPI teams. I know UCI was pretty bad last season but that is probably just a blip but CSUF and UCR have historically been poor programs. Has there been any program changes or up tick in recruiting that shows these two team will be moving up the RPI ladder in the future? Everyone in the conference needs to get better but the bottom rung of the conference is really impacting everyone, especially the conference’s top teams.

Yeah, that's biggest impediment I can see to a Hawaii team that should be very good by the end of conference. They were able to prop up their very good preseason with highly ranked wins against Cal Poly and UCSB twice. With UCSB falling back to the pack and the introduction of two schools which will be battling it out at the bottom, the 'good wins' will be really hard to find on 2020 BW play I fear.

And worse, adding to the bottom of the conference could be adding 'bad wins' where simply playing those matches will hurt Hawaii's RPI, even with a win.

Big West Player of the Year. No way Riley Wagoner gets Player of the Year. On paper, it will be Cal Poly’s year to win. These are the players to watch for Big West POY: Dvoracek-Cal Poly Hellvig-Hawaii Rasmussen-Hawaii (if back to true form) White-UC Davis Froley-UCSB

Cal Poly will push, they have got diversify their offense, now that every team knows the ball is going to Dvoracek. I see blockers shutting her down. If Rasmussen is back healthy, there is no better player in the conference, no offense to Dvoracek. Hawaii returns a bunch talent including Hellvig, Igiede, and Williams. We might see Wagoner at libero? Anyway, I'm excited to see how the Beach does with their incoming class. UCSB will be nothing like the team they had last year. Tasia Farmer and Tallulah Forley were very exciting to watch during the tournament last year, but I think their best player will be Deni Wilson. I just hope they can surprise people. From what was mentioned, they are going to need some help with passing and defense this year, now that Zoe Fleck is no longer with the team.

Maia was outstanding in conference but she has never played against Jolie. If Jolie is healthy, we sill see how Maia hits around her and vice versa. Jolie has more finesse and knows when to tip, roll, or swing. Passing: Jolie > Maia Blocking: Jolie > Maia Jolie will have a better supporting cast next season. I just hope she remains healthy all season. Plus I’m a homer.
