It looks like the opposite position was invented after 2010 based on this list. Well, I’m probably not as old as you so I’m not really familiar with VB legends in the early 2000s and the 20th century 😊 I’m just a baby

any list with Hooker or Drews on it should be crumpled up and lit on fire. Before the last few quads it is probably Gamova. Of the last three quads its Bosko and there shouldn't be any argument. When all is said and done it is Bosko and no one will ever get close. She has already gone three time european player of the year and that's going up against Egonu. She could have four olympic medals and 7+ player of the year awards. She is the best player on the planet for the next decade. Just get use to it. Guys side Mikhaylov and its not close.

Yikes why yikes? I get it some people aren’t familiar with the old players but you have a recurring theme where you view the older players as far better than any player could ever be today. Idk if it’s nostalgia or what but to say Tijana could be the best opp of all time is totally viable considering she’s only 24 and in the conversation already. By the time her career is over she’s likely to be one of the most decorated players ever and is just a phenomenal all around player now. I get she doesn’t impress you much but come on now. You act like she’s not even in the conversation. You’ve also been quoted as saying Tijana was “clearly” a step below Egonu and that Egonu was “on her own planet” and that Tijana would ride the bench on a team with Egonu. Do you stand by those statements ??

Well, currently it's Boskovic without a doubt. If Thompson can play like she did against China then she may have an argument to be included (but that's a big if).

She was literally godly against China but let’s not include her in the best opposite of ALL TIME discussion based on one match. I do think she could be up there by the time she’s done if she continues on that trajectory but let’s pump the brakes on that until she does that more often I literally said IF she can play like that (then she has the capability to be one of best opps).

Maxim mikhaylov and it isn’t even close Ivan Miljković? i mean miljkovic was outstanding, but i think the team success for mikhaylov benefits his resume russia has just been so consistent in the top 3 that mikhaylov resume rings louder plus his zenit kazan years are unfair also, as the pins were leon, anderson and him... individually, miljkovic might have been just as good or better, but the resume for GOAT opposite has to go to mikhaylov. the guy has been so consistent

I feel like Mikhaylov has had more talent around him...making his job a bit easier. And remember...Mikhavlov wasn't the winning opposite for Russia 2012....he was the winning OH. we are pprobably leaving out a ton of pre-2000 Oppos.

I don't know as much about the international game as a lot of fans here, but Gamova, Boskovic and Hooker are probably the most dominant RS attackers I've seen. Every time they go up to hit I'm surprised if it isn't a kill.
