2021 All-VolleyTalk Awards
Hello Volleytalkers and Guests,
Welcome to the 6th Annual All-VolleyTalk Awards. This is the official voting ballot thread where YOU can decide which VolleyTalk posters should be recognized for their stellar contributions to this forum. The 2021 All-VolleyTalk teams have been voted on and the Integrity Committee (vbprisoner bigfan & Barefoot In Kailua ) have validated the results.
Congratulations to all the nominees that made Volleytalk a fun experience this season in 2021! Below are the official Volleytalk awards and it ended up actually being 25 awards because there was a tie for 8th place in voting so First Team has 9 winners. Also note that when I listed out the teams I kept the # sequence as it ended up, but since mikegarrison (15) did not want to be included that request was granted and the # 26 vote getter moved up to HM.

There’s no committee to decide All-Volleytalk awards. Your votes determine who wins. There was a small committee to select the 50 candidates, and ensure the integrity of the voting.
Thank you to all who voted, and let's make Volleytalk GREAT AGAIN in 2022!
Cheers,
vbp
General Information
1. The poll lists 50 VolleyTalk posters comprised of: (a) service providers, (b) posters nominated by a committee, and (c) other deserving nominees. I had more nominees than the poll max limit of 50 so some otherwise deserving posters had to be eliminated.
2. Voting will end on December 21, 2021, 6:00 PM (PT).
Instructions:
1. The poll (above) lists 50 nominees for All-VolleyTalk recognition. They are listed in ALPHABETICAL ORDER for odd #s, and reverse alphabetical order for even #s so there is a mixture from top to bottom.
2. Vote up to twelve (12) times — one (1) vote per poll nominee. No weighted votes.
3. Vote for the posters you personally believe have consistently contributed the best content to this forum in the women's volleyball sub-forum in summer, and fall season of 2021.
4. Lobbying is allowed, if only to remind other voters what your favorite nominees have accomplished in 2021.
5. Sit back and enjoy!
Voting criteria:
Vote for the posters you personally believe have consistently contributed the best content to this forum. What does this mean? Please focus on the key words: “consistently” and “best content.” You can use any combination of factors:
Who are the best posters on a consistent basis throughout the 2021 July to December fall season?
Which posters post valuable (i.e., insightful, informative, interesting) content?
Which posters put in a lot of man-hours to help everyone else enjoy this forum? PTW, VT Top 25, etc.
Which posters make this a better place?
Whose posts do you look forward to reading every day?
Which posters make you laugh? Cry?
Which posters make you want to “up” your game?
Which posters make you think and talk about volleyball in a different way?
Which posters provide a valuable service to this community?
Please vote for posters you genuinely believe deserve recognition. Don't vote for posters just because others think they're deserving. You read posts. Trust your own judgment. Make up your own mind.
Note: posters don’t necessarily have to be thread creators. Posters who merely reply all the time can be just as valuable through their honest, insightful, and flat-out amazing posts.
How are the winners determined?
1. The top vote-getter wins the VolleyTalk Poster of the Year
2. The top 8 vote-getters are on the All-VolleyTalk 1st Team
3. The next 8 vote-getters are on the All-VolleyTalk 2nd Team
4. The next 8 vote-getters are on the All-VolleyTalk Honorable Mention Team
Why 8 on the 1st team, 8 on the 2nd team, and 8 on the Honorable Mention team?
Well, it's all arbitrary. Almost. Volleyball = 6 players per side, plus libero and defensive specialist. We could've easily done 10 on 1st team, 10 on 2nd team, and all remaining on Honorable Mention. In 2016 there were 6 on 1st team, 6 on 2nd team, and 12 on Honorable Mention. Folks thought that number was too small so it was increased in 2018.
So, you weren’t nominated?
The poll feature limits us to 50 nominees. We had more than 50 nominated names. To get down to 50, we had to make some hard choices (really hard choices!) by including some and excluding others. Priority was given to those who were the most CONSISTENT and INFORMATIVE and INSIGHTFUL contributors on this forum in fall 2021. As much as we would like to nominate everyone, it's just not possible.
What about the valuable posters from the beach and men's volleyball sub-forums?
Beginning in 2018, the All-VolleyTalk Awards was limited to active posters in the women's volleyball sub-forum. If someone wants to step up and do an All-VolleyTalk Poster Awards for the beach and men's volleyball... Go for it! The posters in those sub-forums are very deserving of recognition as well.
I should also add that the same applies to the Off-the-Net sub-forum which is populated by a bunch of nut jobs, as you might imagine. LMAO
Only 24 of 50 will get official All-VolleyTalk recognition. 26 will get nothing. Those are the breaks.
I think most everyone contributed something to this forum, but as we all know from these “All-American” type lists, there is a finite number of slots. Not everyone can win. Some of you may only receive a couple votes... That’s okay. That doesn’t mean you’re not a contributor. You’re simply up against stiff competition. This is just for fun.
