One seat away from Condit. Might be time for a new vision and someone that can recruit successfully in their backyard. We agree. I'm just telling you what the rumors have been for the past couple years, and the trend that retirements usually mean that AC gets promoted.

A little surprised by that one. He was hired right before the 2022 season. Technically this season was his first full year there. Did they expect an instant turnaround? If you've seen all you need to see, moving on from a volleyball coach at a place like Lamar is fairly easy to do. I'd be surprised if there's any buyout- a few months severance and the cost of starting over, really. I once interviewed for a professor job at Lamar. The campus is brown completely. Because it is located right next to an oil refinery, downwind, so all the toxic fumes killed all the vegetation on campus. The statue of Mirabeau Lamar was corroding away. I was expected to teach 3-4 classes a semester, including lab sections and also crank out copious amounts of technical papers in my spare time if I wanted to be tenured. I turned it down. They like to make do with very little investment, which means that they will work everyone to death.

What is your personal probability that this is what will happen?

I love how in the press release they have a link to the coach’s page on their web site. But if you click on it, you get a “page not found” message.

What’s preventing Jacksonville from being a good job? Seems like a coach should be able to win there.

What’s preventing Jacksonville from being a good job? Seems like a coach should be able to win there. $$$ The previous two coaches from Jacksonville are now at Mississippi State (Darty) and Georgia Tech (Collier), so I would argue that Jacksonville has been a good job with winning. Not at all disagreeing about $$$ but seems like the past two coaches were able to figure something out with recruiting and finding enough success to land higher profile jobs.
