Is anyone else kinda over these throne photos? No shade to any athletes (or really any schools), but ... I kinda feel like it's had its moment. It's not unique. Up your game, creative teams. I'm just over these transfers NOT transferring to the destinations I want them to end up at. Sure, it might be what's best for them, but what about me? Trojansc - that is hilarious!!

This transfer decision is strange. Houston lost almost everyone on their roster from last season. I get that Dalton wants to play, but Houston will probably struggle to get top 5 in the Big 12 and simply put, she might not even make the NCAA tourney at Houston. IMO there wasn't a lot of thought into which schools would be a good fit for her and with a high upside for the program. She definitely found a home where she will play a lot but I think with just a little more thought on her part she could have had a better program, had a better shot at the tourney and gotten more PR for her life after college vb. Disappointed she didn't reach for a better program. With that said the Houston Staff is respected and liked throughout the country so no disrespect to them at all. It will be a tough year in Houston even with TX and OK gone from the league because of the departures.

Orrrr maybe she was focused on the academic/lifestyle/people/career/geography fit of an institution and not so much the volleyball level

They will be underrated but he always has his teams playing a good brand of volleyball. Probably not as good as last year but they will be just fine.

If she just focused on academic etc she would have gone to other schools all around being she is from Colorado. Could be wrong, but the her choices along her journey don't make me think so.

Rehr has done a good job and he is universally liked. My comment is about Dalton's choice. She could have gone to a better program and still played more. Plus if her goal is to play in the tourney, she is skating on thin ice. Rehr will be hard pressed to finish top 5 in the Big 12 and make the NCAA tourney. No disrespect to Houston at all. In 2025 this might be a different Houston program but Dalton had to have other options that included starting and winning league championships .... as well as making the NCAA's with a higher winning percentage and a better shot at a higher finish. That's all.

Not everyone has it all figured out coming out of high school. I don't think we should look down on athletes who make decisions to go to an institute that better fits their needs.

Why do you care? Not sure that caring has anything to do with it. Just making an observation that I don't think her decision to go to Houston was academic like was suggested. My second observation was that she undersold herself because I think she is good enough to go to a program with a higher chance of making the NCAA tourney and finishing with a higher ranking than Houston will in 2024.

Not everyone has it all figured out coming out of high school. I don't think we should look down on athletes who make decisions to go to an institute that better fits their needs. My comments had zero to do with Dalton ("figuring it out") or any other player who has/or not (figured it out) coming out of high school. Where did you get that info? High school wasn't even a part of the conversation until you interjected it. The Houston decision is the third school she has moved to and I threw out my belief that she was moving schools for volleyball reasons. I think that is true. She hasn't made a single comment about a grad or undergrad program or any other academic program not available at WSU or Pitt. Houston is the academic answer? I also didn't comment that anyone was "looking down" on her or any other athlete. She improved her playing time opportunities (which is good) but I think that she could have played at any number of programs who will be stronger in 2024 than Houston will be. My observation. You can think differently, that is fine. Just don't interject issues into my argument that I didn't make.
