After the Davis departure and hiring saga, it seems like a good hire IMO.

Shouldn’t hurt as far as keeping their ‘25 MB recruit Ogbechie, who was a sought after recruit.

Do coaches' kids get any tuition discounts if they have the grades/scores to get into the university their parent is coaching at? Not just Northwestern, but any school. I was looking at his bio and he graduated from USC in 2000 (I'd assume in his early 20s) and he has three kids. I have no idea of any of them are nearing college age, but they could be, which is why I asked. Northwestern dependent tuition benefit plans include: Dependent Reduced Tuition (DRU0, DRU1, DRU2) for undergraduate courses taken by spouses and dependent children of employees at Northwestern University. Dependent Portable Tuition (DPO, DP1) for university undergraduate courses taken by employees' dependent children at schools other than Northwestern University. Music Lessons Reduced Tuition (paper application) for non-degree lessons taken by employees of Northwestern, their spouses and dependent children at the Music Academy in the School of Music. A list of some eligible Northwestern programs can be found in the Professional Development section of our website. hr.northwestern.edu/benefits/tuition/dependent/#:~:text=Northwestern%20dependent%20tuition%20benefit%20plans,of%20employees%20at%20Northwestern%20University.

I don’t know him, but I used to go to GCU’s matches and always felt like he was doing a great job with the talent he had. It wasn’t easy to recruit to GCU; as a for-profit religious university for one; and for two, their campus is lovely now that it’s been upgraded but it’s in a HIDEOUS part of Phoenix.
I look forward to seeing him at Northwestern.

I don’t like the hire at all. I understand that a lot of people turned it down, but he doesn’t seem to have any sort of recruiting ties in the Midwest. This also seems like a coach that if they have success will leave for a bigger job. Northwestern while located in Midwest is a school that can and does recruit nationally.

Is the whole staff gone? Do we think he’ll have an entirely new staff connected to the Midwest? Is there anyone he would keep?

After the Davis departure and hiring saga, it seems like a good hire IMO. Agree. Overall, this exceeds expectations. He’s a proven recruiter, has deep experience in the PAC (rIp) and won the WAC little-engine-that-could style. Guessing with the right assistants he’ll do well. Now, he needs to hit the portal hard.

What impactful recruits are left in the portal? Any rumored big names entering? Northwestern needs a good middle if Dodson doesn't stay. Two pins to support Hernandez

If you were Dodson… would you stay?
She’s already gone, we just don’t know it yet

If you were Dodson… would you stay? She’s already gone, we just don’t know it yet Earn a grad degree while on scholarship at a prestigious school and stay closer to home, sounds like a sweet deal Waiting for her announcement then

I was looking forward to Noodemeer taking over after redshirting last year but guessing Alexa will keep running the show, they really need a hammer on the pin and at least 2 MB pickups. Curious if any GCU players with B1G capability will follow Nollan. They’ve already lost Stinson to the portal, so looks like Navarrete will take over at libero.

I guess Rousseau is better than Nordermeer? I prefer Nordermeer's quickness and hands. Northwestern would've been fine without her. Will the new HC make some cuts if he can bring in some impact transfers?

Northwestern has THREE very talented setters and only 10 players on roster currently. I don’t see the coach making cuts with a thin roster and look forward to the competition in the setting position.
