can't wait for COVID-26 and COVID-29 to give these classes six years of eligibility. Off Topic - If there are future Covid disasterous years, I'd like to see only seniors get an extra year or no one get an extra year. That's just me. What they really should have done is if the season was completed, no one should have gotten an extra year. The additional "Covid" year was an incentive for people to play that year and not redshirt for the following year. That to me would have made the most sense.

Nadiya Johnson is a nice player but she may not be the top player on her Metro 16 team. Take a look at the 6'3" left side Morgan Williams or her counterpart the 6'4" Bryah Breaux. At middle they have the 6'2" Teodora Stamenkovic and for more right sides you have the 6'3" Emma Gardner and the 6'2" Soleil Rancourt. In my opinion all are top line players.
At libero they have the 5'11" Elly Vanlandingham, but she may take a back seat to the 5'8" Laila Chadwick, who in high school made the first team as an outside hitter.
They recently bowled over the competition at the Rock and Rumble in Cleveland to finish in first place.

Ayanna Watson - Vegas Aces, I'm not sure which age group yet - they should be at Triple Crown, she's worth a watch. absolute hammer! I heard Stanford is one of her top choices, not sure if Hamblys recruiting her but she has a ton of potential. Yeah, I’m still not sure any of the 2026 pins are as good a prospect as a number of 2025 players, but Watson being local, I’ve seen her in person and her athleticism is very very high. I don’t think she has an elite arm arm and her passing leaves much to be desired, but maybe that improves after a year of club ball.

OTVA 15s could be very good this year. Setter Sophia Dostic, 6’0 and RS Sam Karjala 6’1 both won states with Plant HS in Florida.

OTVA 15s are good every year... they draw from a very big area

Has nice speed on her approach and hits with a nice high shoulder but could use her arms more to convert forward speed into lift off the ground. Since she's young I have not doubt she's going to add several more inches to her vertical. I'm going to guess she's touching around 10'5" so that means she should be around 10'8" or 10'9" when she matriculates to the collegiate level.

How bout that ‘29 from Orange County. This an actual reference? I know Megan Hodges (6'5" MB - TStreet 15's) in a stud 2028. There a big '29 out there?

As others pointed out, Nadiya Johnson is a freak athlete. Still putting it together but not many people in the country as athletic as her. That Metro team has ridiculous size.
For 2027, 6'2" MB Taylor Harrington (Paramount VBC) is a name to keep an eye on. Hard to think of a significant number of middles at the 14 Open Qualifiers last season who outplayed her.

I am more familiar with 25s as my daughter is one, and 24s too, but have seen quite a few excellent 26s at NTDP and Qualifiers. Henley and Thompson are very good, as are rhe other named studs. The 2 players that I find myself drawn to their courts to watch are S Isabelle Hoppe (AVC) OH Laura Eichert (WBVC) Hoppe just joined AVC from Pitt Elite so should be fun to see her this season. Eichert plays for her club’s 18s team and is the best athlete in this class.

There a big '29 out there? Kari Knotts is a big time '29 prospect. Not sure of her name off the top of my head, but there’s a player for Legacy who is a game changer. Played 13s last year also for the Legacy team that won 13 Open. She was a definite standout at Nike Classic last weekend. I’m not entirely sure she’s a ‘29, but plays that age group.
