There is a younger, bigger and high potential middle that is in the transfer portal that had an alright season this year , but he could really thrive with Tread’s sets. Maybe Tread and Finn can convince him to become a warrior….. Also redshirts JT and Zach Y showed promise in the middle and they both have monster serves. The Warriors will be deep. I remember someone (can't remember if it was you or not) mentioning Yewchuk maybe becoming the best serving middle Hawaii has had in a long time. Still true, or did Kurt go "not on my watch"? Also not particularly surprised JT is taking reps at middle, but kind of surprised Hawaii's even considering pulling anyone from the pins at this point. Middle depth goes 5/6 deep (Kurt, Alex, Zach, Zach, Ofeck, Transfer) already. Guess pins are ok at this point (I think 6 on the left after the transfer, and 3 or 4 on the right depending on who keeps playing both sides) but it's still shallower (after likely redshirts) and way younger of a list. They have JT Todd practicing at both middle and pin I believe.

I just finished watching tOSU vs Lindenwood for the MIVA championship. In that match, Weiter was good and regular degular. Wieter is a better passer than the pins that transferred out and statistically a better server. He was top 12 in aces per set. UH could be a very scary serving team next season, if they can find consistency. That's why I like Weiter coming in as a grad transfer because he will push Sakanoko. And plus, I know Charlie kinda leaned on Sakanoko more than usual as a Frosh but hoping his inconsistencies with his serve and passing gets worked on heavily in the off season. If not, I could actually see Weiter getting some starting time because he could be the better passer and server between the two.

Thompson 6.)Yewchuk/JT Todd I’m assuming that this is just the names in general and no order of competitive/effectiveness? Because no way you have Parks over Thompson. Would love to see JT getting reps in the middle to see if it would be better long term getting him in the lineup. Would be incredible if we got Aruya, I’m not so sold on Ofeck as of yet. Haven’t really seen much of him to say he’s a shoe in and accolades on a weaker national team don’t mean much to me.

I like Thompson's fire out there.

Thompson is gone after next season and Kurt is a senior the year Payne comes in.

Haven’t really seen much of him to say he’s a shoe in and accolades on a weaker national team don’t mean much to me. I think Charlie must be high in him. Hazan had that Shaka and palm tree emoji on his IG for over 2 years so I think Charlie was on him for at least two years and waited for him to finish his military duties. I believe Ofeck was the youngest member of the Israeli NT at 21 that included UCLA’s Ido David and Guy Genis. I believe Ido is about 24 and Guy is about 26 so Ofeck is somebody UH see that could make an impact like Ido and Guy have done for UCLA. Israel is not a powerhouse in volleyball but every single Israeli we recruited have had major impact on the program and have started. Sivan Leoni, Yuval Katz, Eyal Zimet, and Naveh Milo. Maybe setter Noah Katz didn’t succeed by he never gave it a try as he left adter only one year. Our Greece and Israeli pipelines have been winners. All the Greeks have turned into AA. All the Israeli were starters and have big impact on the program. The Israeli team is not a powerhouse in international volleyball but there are still some good players on those teams. Maybe their coaches are not very good.
