That’s too bad regarding Knipe saying no to other setters. His decision costed guys like Torwie, Godbold and Briggs chances to win titles. UCLA won the last two and UH won the 2 before that so that 4 years that LBSU could have used an AA level type setter but chose not to. Ugh! It is too bad, especially for the guys you mentioned. Kauling who transferred to Hawaii was reportedly interested in LBSU too, since his girlfriend transferred to play on the women’s team. I have never seen him play, so don’t know if he’s better than Aiden. Well seasons over, looking forward to next year with Nikolov coming in. Before Kauling was injured in 2023 he was a 2nd team AA and 2 time honorable mention. Didn’t see him play, but the accolades are at least better than Knipe

Kauling played for Team USA in the under age categories and senior PanAm. He is much better setter than Aiden. Watching 1 game of him is enough to see it. If anyone can't see it, maybe better to stop watching volleyball.
Any setter who played for usa youth teams is better than Aiden. His setting technique doesn't belong to D1 but thanks to his dad and teammates, he has done a lot.

that's not true u18s as a 16 year old. Rowan is still an older player. ?? I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying. I’m saying that when Rowan was the same age as Tread, he was better than Tread currently is You can say that but it doesn't make it true

Interesting that both those teams had and have 2 setters on each of thier rosters that would easily have started at LB.

Knipe's form is just really different. The location of his sets are always really off. The first set of the championship match forced his hitter to tip.

A couple years back someone posted on here that Long Beach will never win a natty w Knipe setting. Guess that proved to be true, unfortunately for the outstanding athletes on that team year after year

However, I was willing to totally reneg on that statement cause I didn't want to see UCLA win. But they did. So my statement still stood! Hahahahah
