Been wondering about incoming MB's. This seems to answer who's filling the departures coming up.

Only having Sybeldon was not going to cut it.

Wow, you'd think she grew up a Stanford (and Kerry Walsh) fan.

Gil, Dunaway, Sybeldon, Wade - that's 4 now in 2012, and 3 before Wade's commitment. Only two of them are gonna see court time anyways, and Dunaway has been more than adequate when she plays MB. If you meant not cutting it in 2013, then yes it makes sense, but you can always take a freshman in the 2013 high school class. It'll just be a super young team then.

Yes I was referring to 2013 and beyond. Sybeldon and Wade wouldn't see the court much so I'm hoping they redshirt in 2012

UW is starting to get some real talent lined up. I have read great things about Wade. Ah, the Siren Sounds ofSeattle to California girls. I guess they've only heard of rain as a nasty rumor down here.

I know you can't teach 6'5 but this signing has me scratching my head. Either fighting Jimmy Mac is trying to slow down his offense or he is trying to copy Russ Rose's formula and pick up height at all cost.

Olgard is just about the same size and she moves well. Wade is all-CIF as a junior, which is very hard to make an 11 player team out of the many thousands that play in Cali, and she's up for national junior of the year. She propelled her team to the CIF D1 crown so I think she just *might* be a good player.

As a matter of fact I have seen both her and Olgard play and there is absolutely no comparison. In the world of USAV HP teams 6-5 gets you in, period.

Wade's mobility is not a problem and with some more time in the weight room she'll be fine in Jim's system. She's got a lot of upside and is more polished than I thought she would be. Jim really is hauling in some great recruits. Beals and Strickland are also very experienced and technically sound players.

One of the issues for UW has been a relative lack of height, with only one player (Barfield) at over 6-2 - that has allowed teams with high-powered OHs (Klineman, Murray, Jupiter, etc.) to overwhelm UW's block. Pulling this girl out from under the nose of Dunning has to feel good.

She is playing outside hitter for her high school team, which would indicate she's not slow, at least. She had five aces and a ten-point serving streak against Los Altos, which indicates she's not uncoordinated. See: voice.paly.net/node/21747That she also plays beach volleyball would also indicate some degree of coordination and mobility.
