The badger bias is obvious I’d have put Nebraska at 2 HAD they won a set against Texas, but they didn’t, so… 😜

I feel like using % of production lost as a way to determine how good a team is going to be moving forward is a silly metric. The way percents work, being out of a hundred, someone is going to absorb the percentage of what a team loses. Teams are allowed to stay good even if their best players graduate. I think taking it into consideration as one factor among others is logical, but obviously it’s different from team to team. Some did makeup for what they lost with the portal/incoming freshmen/ talented backup players on the roster, etc but in some cases on paper certain teams clearly don’t have as much depth or more importantly, proven talent.

Another year of Baylor being out of the top 25. I get it, but I feel like Ryan McGuyre's ability to field a top 25 team is called into question every year, yet he has shown time and time again that he can reload. Baylor hasn't been unranked since November 2018, despite some suggesting McGuyre would struggle after losing Pressley.
I'm just curious how teams like Arkansas and Tennessee, who both lost nearly 80% of their offensive production, have more certainty than BU.

2. Wisconsin 3. Nebraska Let the bullying commence! Not really controversial considering the recent history between these two.

1. Nebraska 2. Texas 3. Wisconsin 4. Pittsburgh 5. Louisville 6. Stanford 7. Oregon 8. Purdue 9. Kentucky 10. Penn St. 11. Creighton 12. Florida 13. Kansas 14. Georgia Tech 15. Western Kentucky 16. Dayton 17. Arizona St. 18. Tennessee 19. Arkansas 20. Baylor 21. TCU 22. Florida St. 23. Georgia 24. USC 25. BYU Idk Western Kentucky being so high is a bit surprising. They lost Briggs and I saw that Hudson told fans to have patience with this team. But he's a phenomenal coach, so they could very well rebound quickly. Honestly, moving Arkansas and Tennessee down and Washington St. and Houston out had me scrambling. 🙈

Kinda surprised that VT voted Texas as #1, given that we lose 3 starters and Nebraska returns all theirs

Kinda surprised that VT voted Texas as #1, given that we lose 3 starters and Nebraska returns all theirs Texas reloaded with the portal, and has insane depth Hard to question them. But Nebraska is insane too. It’s clear it’s those two

Here was my ballot:
1. Texas 2. Nebraska 3. Wisconsin 4. Pittsburgh 5. Louisville 6. Stanford 7. Oregon 8. Tennessee 9. Kentucky 10. Penn State 11. Purdue 12. Florida 13. Southern California 14. Washington State 15. Georgia Tech 16. Arkansas 17. Creighton 18. Arizona State 19. Kansas 20. BYU 21. Baylor 22. Houston 23. Dayton 24. Western Kentucky 25. Marquette
Top two could be interchangeable, however at this point, majority of this is made up from how teams finished last year, who they lost, who they returned, and who they acquired. I can honestly see Nebraska running the table this year, even though Texas still has Madisen Skinner. She is my pre-season favorite for National Player of The Year. I don’t see any other teams who have the depth, and talent in that depth, besides Texas and Nebraska to run the tables. Maybe Wisconsin or Louisville, but as always it is way too early to tell.
I have Southern California high up there, as I believe they’re on the upward trajectory with their program along with the talent they have coming in for the next few seasons. Maybe a little too high, but again still too early to tell. I kept Arkansas on the list, but to be honest, that may change after the first week.
With that being said, another exciting season of Women’s college volleyball awaits us all!

Kinda surprised that VT voted Texas as #1, given that we lose 3 starters and Nebraska returns all theirs Nebraska doesn't have anyone who jumps as high as Melissa Vargas, though.
