Colvin finished with 10 blocks!
Anderson had 8!
Myers had 6!
Hudson had 5!
Purdue ended with 17 team blocks.

Purdue wins 3-1! Close call to end the match but it was the right call. Anderson got to a close ball on the plane and was setting the ball when the K-State middle interfered. so the call was interference? seemed like the ball was on the plane based on the replay. It wasn't clear from the announcers what the challenge was actually for

There isn't a gym in America where that should have been called. Purdue had control of the match, but K State stormed back and got robbed. If it were challengeable, it would have been overturned.

The ball was on the plane but Anderson made it to the ball first and was clearly trying to set the ball when the middle touched it.

My question is: if Anderson had contacted the ball first while the ball was on Purdue's side, then the ball crossed over, and the KSU player touched it on KSUs side of the net while Anderson was still setting it, is that a violation?

I'd say no, it's not a violation, but I welcome anyone else else's interpretation!

Replay seemed insanely clear that the ball was on the plane. Bad way to end this match. KState deserved better

KState deserved better I agree with you that the NCAA needs to be better about what plays should be challengeable. And that they probably need better officials too. Maybe it should've been a replay instead of the match-ending point decided by the up ref.

Kansas State is going to win a lot of matches. They are so good. They beat Purdue in every stat almost except in blocks.

She moves the ball around so smoothly. Larkin and Brown are also great additions. It's wild to me they were picked to finish so low in the Big XII.

Great atmosphere at Holloway last night. As expected in a season opener, there were rough stretches for both teams. But it was a highly competitive match. KState is VERY scrappy and made Purdue work for everything. Aliyah Carter is a beast - super athletic, very fun to watch. And the Wildcats setter was terrific. That said, I see gobs of potential in this Purdue team. Probably too early to claim “championship makeup”, but it’s an incredibly competitive group. And not just Hudson/Chicoine/Colvin. There are some warriors in this bunch.

I'd say no, it's not a violation, but I welcome anyone else else's interpretation! You are correct. IF Anderson legally set the ball, it is directed toward the defense, whether it has entered the plane or not it can be legally blocked.
