So interesting bc I think both teams are pretty equal... but it's obvious that Kerr is just outplaying Izzy You were saying? Kerr was the better setter. Starks did better as the game went on, but Kerr was overall better

Penn State looked solid. Not exactly sure what happened to UT after the first set, but they could do some damage this year. Think they have the pieces in place. Really like their setter. PSU is still very left side dependent and they both had exceptional hitting % tonight. Sets behind the setter need improvement, or maybe the connection in general but sets looked a little low. They appear to have no true M1. Mendelson is in that spot but is not exactly light on her feet, looks lethargic moving around. Not what you want from a slide hitter. Maybe they need to adopt the men’s offense and just keep the middles both in front and have a quicker right side back row attack in the opp spot. It’s a shame as the slide is the most effective attack in women’s volleyball and they appear to have no one who can do it. Watch out for Tennessee. I think they will be very good. A team loses a home match in 4 sets (25, -16, -15, -20) and that tells you they will be very good? What scores would it take for you to think they could be mediocre to bad?

Yeah, well. It is what it is. Texas has to be more grateful for the transfer portal and NIL than any other school. They'd still be on one title in like 35 years.

Both teams are slaying omg Also friendly reminder that Caroline Kerr is literally insane ❤️ Is she related to Steve? I’ve wondered that but have no idea… does anyone else know? Idk how popular of a last name Kerr is lol

Kerr was the better setter. Starks did better as the game went on, but Kerr was overall better Starks set her team to significant % higher for the match .343 to .188 This would be a bad take and there is zero objective nor subjective metrics to back this up. Not sure what match you were watching.

I’m sure I’m already forgiven by her and the PSU program.

I love how Penn State's website lists them as having won 3-0, despite the box score of a four-setter.

Don’t think it’s a confusing outlook. I was there, I think TN has the pieces to be a very good team. It was the first match of the year. I guess you’ve never seen a team lose a match (much less the first one of the season) and still be very good…

Tennessee has the makings of a good team that should improve as the season goes on. I don’t know the level of intensity in many practice gyms and game speed compared to practice speed can be significant. Like the NFL preseason ,which has gotten way worse, we won’t know for sure until we know. The connection behind Starck (with a C) should improve as the team plays more and we see more refinement and real speed experience. I’m not questioning any coaches’ practice environment but as much as we want game like speed in practice it hard to simulate for various reasons. Anyway best of luck to Tennessee. Really nice court btw

Thank God I was wrong (not an unusual occurrence). Keep up the negativity, the reverse jinx is working, also, don't post during the match; seems like that is the recipe for success. Things would be so easy if I had that power.
