Imagine if Landfair went to Wisconsin instead where she would've definitely started and made a difference. Instead she is riding the bench at Nebraska though I can't imagine her riding the bench all season. She will sit.

Yikes - those last few points from Wisconsin were junior college maybe. And sorry - Franklin needs to get her emotions under control because it’s impacting the team. Not a POTY this year (nor last year honestly). 🤣🤣🤣

IMHO TX tipping over big WI block coupled with great floor defense by both teams, resulted in many long rallies. Eventually WI wore out.

Have a question for TX. How, with half their players seeing little or no playing time, do they keep everyone happy?

Have a question for TX. How, with half their players seeing little or no playing time, do they keep everyone happy? Prolly not. I would expect to lose 1-2 scholarship players to the portal this year, plus maybe a walk-on or two But then again, ppl have been expecting Devin to leave for 2 years now and she hasn't, so ...?

The easy answer is being a student athlete at Texas is a great situation to be in, but we still see transfers out, even ones who do play sometimes just like every other team. (Fields, Iosia, Petersen, Crownover, Pierce, Parra, Sun, Williams, Cabello, Gabriel).

Tells us more about your insight into their program and/or your conversations with Cook?

What jumps out at me and is problematic for UWl, is their leading offensive player had 25 kills, the next had 7.

Have a question for TX. How, with half their players seeing little or no playing time, do they keep everyone happy? This sounds super corny and will result in a many eye-rolls, but it's the team atmosphere or (even I roll my eyes) the "family environment". Of course there are exceptions. Our starting setter (Gabriel) and OH (Fields) left because they were tired of it. But did you listen to the interview Rutherford's family? They talked about the stuff outside of volleyball that has really made the difference for their daughter.
Skinner herself said in an interview that what she thought of Texas being an outsider of the program was completely different than when she was in the program and that's why she turned down JE when he first reached out to her.
Good players at Texas who figure out they're never going to start tend to leave after their sophmore or junior years. The environment, which starts at the top with JE, is what keeps them in the practice gym for 2-3 years.

I think coach Sark said it best: “We want to make it as hard as possible for our guys to want to leave. They're getting developed, they're getting treated well enough. They're getting coached up, they're playing in great schemes. They've got a great locker room culture, they're getting a first-class education, they get to live in the city of Austin. Like, I want to make it so dang hard for them to leave that. If that moment comes where they feel like that's just in the best interest that for me to go that it should almost bring him to tears that, you know, this place meant that much to them." I think this applies to Volleyball too.

Have a question for TX. How, with half their players seeing little or no playing time, do they keep everyone happy? I think also NIL helps, just like it does Nebraska. The money isn’t there like it is for other revenue sports, but it’s nice to have a certain level of compensation that isn’t available anywhere else but Nebraska, in addition to the scholarship. Texas is an awesome experience on many levels, but in my opinion the money afforded to athletes at Texas and Nebraska is creating a tiered system even more than it used to be in terms of attracting and keeping talent.

Georgia is right around there as well.

Tells us more about your insight into their program and/or your conversations with Cook? I have insights into her passing and defending and know it will not be better than players seeing playing time.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but when was the last time Wisconsin started 0-2?
