The tv announcer must have been reading VT. I think at one point he said “gophers fans have been waiting a long time for Ng’s first assist of her career and there it is” or something similar 😂 That’s funny. Always interesting when they say something that seems to reference volleytalk. Reading this forum might be as bad for the mental health of commentators as it is for players. It can be brutal on here lol

That ball at the end of the first set Shaff should have wailed on it. Nobody from LIU up for the block and LIU eventually scored. Wonder what that little tif between Grote and KCook about 3/4 way through first set was about. Probably asking her what other options she might have had, rather than hitting into the block twice in a row?

Lord have me try our passing is terrible. If Cook doesn’t think that every BIG team is going to serve Wookie off the court he’s got to be crazy. I want to see what Gray can do in an extended backcourt role. It’s becoming hard to watch; I’m a big Wookie fan, but it’s time for some other options lol I made the snide remark that the halftime contest passing was better than Wucherer's.

First career assist for Ng.
First career kill for Schnichels.
First career block for Engeman.
First and hopefully last look at the double libero. I don't get it???

First and hopefully last look at the double libero. I don't get it??? IF you have... 1) A DS/Libero who is better at digging than anyone else, but not so great at passing / serve-receive. 2) A DS/Libero who is better at passing / serve-receive than anyone else, but not as great at digging. 3) A decent collection of good/great DS players, so you can dedicate both those mentioned players to the Libero spot ... then it makes sense to assign two players as Libero, and have one of them in during serve receive (a great pass is more likely to lead to a first ball side-out), and the other in when your team is serving (a great dig stops the opponent from siding out). I suck at analyzing players, so I'm not sure about (1) and (2). I have serious doubts about whether (3) applies for us.

Maybe in Green Bay for a set or two since those three opponents are a similar level to LIU. Not sure what Keegan's philosophy is on rewarding players for hard work/sportsmanship/"being a team player"/etc. Given the opponent and leading 2-0, maybe he did it for the team culture. Gray is a senior too. Senior night is last match of the season against Ohio State, who isn't exactly an opponent you put your senior bench in against and still count on a win. Might have been an unofficial senior night kind of opportunity tonight to play more than half a rotation as a serving sub.

I’m on the Acevedo train too.. I just wish there was a natural spot for her. It’s so had to bench Hanson or Wucherer for her.. although I will say Wucherer needs to figure it out quick lol I’m surprised he put Acevedo in for Hansen over Wucherer I was assuming that Hanson is solid and they wanted Wucherer to work some things out, get time.

Ng’s sets looked pretty clean/not as trapping as McGhie’s?

Ng’s sets looked pretty clean/not as trapping as McGhie’s? Did they….? I saw the one good set to the middle. There were a few trap sets and sets way off the net to the pins… and I think she only set 5 or 6 balls?
