Apologies if this is a silly question.
With the increasing(?) number of international players in collegiate volleyball, are we beginning to see big clubs recruit youth players outside the country? Or are these international players recruited due to there experience in different youth training environments? From what I understand some clubs from outside the U.S compete in American youth club tournaments, is this a common/growing phenomenon and is this the primary source of international recruits? Or do schools scout players abroad instead?

USAV used to have international teams at their youth High Performance event in July. I want to say they would get various Latin American teams and maybe even some Japanese teams at the event. With NTDP, that event turned into a 4 day camp on the USAV side and the only tournament is the All Star Tournament the regions put on because USAV stopped running a tournament. I also think both USAV and AAU have residency restrictions on International teams/players. So while you get the PR teams and maybe some Canadian teams, I don't think anyone outside of those two is even allowed to play in either league.

Big clubs bringing in international players for the top tournaments isn't that far fetched of an idea anymore. Kids playing on the USA u18 could easily make friends with opposing players and try to recruit them to play for their club. But if there are restrictions in place already then that answers that.

That's probably Bay to Bay's next play. And when AAU tries to step in they'll threaten legal action and claim AAU is just doing it because they don't want women to succeed in men's sports.

There was a club tournament last year... I think the SoCal Cup Showcase, where Minas (a pro club in Brazil), brought their 16s team.
I don't know of others, but this probably isn't the only case of it happening. I can't see European clubs doing it because they have a really solid and established system.

there have been international players that have come and played for a season or multiple seasons with club teams. I am aware of several examples and I am sure there are more. All the ones I know of were cases where the player came and lived in the US for all or portions of the season within residency area of the club.
Whole teams coming to participate in juniors tournaments sounds like a cool thing to elevate the level of boys volleyball, some clubs might get upset if they take medals and the same issues with "super teams" will come up. Limit it to the open division for a few tournaments before nationals and see how it goes.

Per sportswrench, both 14s and 16s team from Minas played in the club division and 14s won it easily and 16s won it somewhat easily. Curious why they didn't put them in a higher division.

Lol I was literally about to make this post! I'm sure there's one more Henno, Porro or Lagumdžija brother that can come and play for B2B.
