This is a weird tournament. (It was last year, too.) Five teams, two who have already played each other (and won't repeat), two of them from the same conference (but not a conference-A/B challenge, and not playing each other yet), not a round-robin... So no team plays four matches, and one team plays just two matches.

As usual, the team logos are links to the respective schools' VB webpage. I didn't include links for the rosters or stats, but you can get to them by going to the VB site, so... Chicago State also plays a match on Monday. The overall record doesn't include this result.

No poll? Uh oh. Gophers have been sweeping their opponents ever since I started voting for them to win in 5.
Go Gophers and Tommies! St. Thomas making the trip and being the only team to play (their only) two matches in one day is kind of odd.

I could delete the non-poll poll that’s currently there, but what do I replace it with? Do people want to have a 14 option, “pick 7” type poll? It just seemed too large and clunky.
(And allowing someone to pick “MN in 5” would make it really, really huge!)

I’ll be there, sandwiched in between a couple Badger matches. Happy the Tommies are doing so well. This should be fun.

Well, making a poll to ask if a poll should be made is either extra meta, extra redundant, or somewhat cheeky, too.

Or is that too hipster-bro-forward? Or inverse-meta irony? The answer is…. Kinda.

Heard in the presser: Focus on MBs and back row attacks
One of Samedy’s best weapons was the D set I’d like to see if Acevedo has “D” potential when she replaces Wookie behind the line

N.Dakota wins the first match for the Summit against Chicago State… 23-25, 25-18, 27-25, 25-21. (Let’s see… losing the first and then winning three in a row is a reverse-mini-sweep?)

It seems both North Dakota and St. Thomas are on an upward trajectory from last season, which is great to see!

I think it’s also safe to ignore the SideArm stats page saying that it’s currently 9am in Green Bay.
