Minnesota has won 12 straight Big Ten openers. They're gonna make it 13 in 5 sets. Unfortunately, this is untrue. They lost to Purdue in the 2022 B1G opener @ Purdue. They bounced back to win their B1G home opener though! I remember it was a sweep, but who was it against.... I'm sure it will come to me. I found that stat in the following article badgerextra.com/sports/volleyball/wisconsin-volleyball-minnesota-tv-radio-preview-storylines/article_6a27b284-7acb-11ef-ab5b-eff0da82474d.html"The Gophers are 29-13 in Big Ten openers and have not lost one since a five-setter against Illinois in 2011, a streak of 12 straight wins." I'll still stick with Gophers in 5 they're looking better then I thought they would and my Badgers need the block to step up and be more formidable as we get to the meat of the schedule.

On a Wednesday night, for a single match? Because it's five or so hours each way, mid-week. Why WOULDN'T they fly? Because they can just use high-speed rail inste... oh wait, that's still not installed yet? Offensive. đ€Ł Truly though, whenever I go back and forth between Madison and the Twin Cities, I cannot help but curse the name.

Badgers are going to have to show some patience and some stability in transition to win this. One of their big early season weaknesses is that they can get untracked in transition against good defensive teams - connections with hitters start to break down, confusion about who deals with what starts to happen, etc - and with a freshman setter it takes too long to get the coordination back. Sometime it never came back. They have been getting better, but this will be a test to see how far they've come. The other weakness has been serving which affects the blocking and D.

Why would they fly to Minnesota?? On a Wednesday night, for a single match? Because it's five or so hours each way, mid-week. Why WOULDN'T they fly? if it takes you five hours to get to Mpls from Madison youâre doing something wrong. It usually takes me just shy of 4 hours. If I gave you a ride to the airport and then drove myself, Iâd only be about 45 minutes behind you if we were to meet in Minneapolis. Iâd much rather drive this trip than fly it. It just really doesnât save much time to fly, and when driving you donât have to deal with any of the airport histrionics. It also allows more flexibility for what time to leave after the match is over. Are there even any nighttime flights to Madison? A chartered flight would be a silly waste of money for this distance; and a commercial flight adds in too much stress and coordination to save an hour, when hopping on a bus will also be less disruptive to the athletes.

They flew. Frabklin's instagram had a photo. I'm sure it was a chartered flight.

Except that it's a late match (8pm) and there is school tomorrow. I'm not surprised they're chartering, which makes a 4 hour drive into a 1.5 - 2h min flight + commute.

This feels spot on...demonstrated by the two teams' reactions in playing Texas. Time to dive into the B1G for these freshmen...hope they can channel some calm and resilience. It's my two favorite teams, but bring back the W Badgers!

Ah, yeah chartering makes sense when you have the money to do it!

On a Wednesday night, for a single match? Because it's five or so hours each way, mid-week. Why WOULDN'T they fly? One of the only drivable matches imo IMO, the only drivable match in the BIG is Northwestern, at just over 1 hour. Otherwise, your charter gets you there way faster. When they used to have to fly commercial, go through TSA and baggage claim etc. it was more comparable to flying if you drove to places like Minnesota you would also be able to drive to Iowa, llinois, Purdue, and maybe even MSU.

You are not flying a charter.
