As usual, your comments are spot on. I was not able to go to the game in person today, but I was able to watch it on the BIG+ live stream, thanks to the free one year subscription for Washington fans. It was nice to follow the game from a different angle. - Wilmes continues her clutch play for an injured Barton (she's asking the question whether, after Barton returns, it should be Barton and Wilmes on the left side; on the other hand, Endsley showed her craftiness again tonight after a slow start) If Wilmes and Barton are on the left side, I think our passing will improve (i.e., Barton, Wilmes, Bays, Heard). For a few matches, Washington used a 2 person serve receive and today, I saw Emoni on a limited passing duty. These are not ideal against a good serving team.

Such a great start for Huskies for they year. Ill has some tough pieces, and Wash made them look ordinary today. Definitely should get into top 25 imo.

Just catching up on some of the match footage. Welcome back to the dawg den KRISTA! I forgot she coached for Illinois. Can you call it that after tonight? Isn’t she our outside hitting coach - seems to me that this is a place we need coaching more than ever and this is not cutting it.

The number of out of system swings is beyond belief. Pass, run the middle and pin hitting will turn around. Maybe college coaches think they do not need to work on fundamentals, I’ve never watched one of our practices so I don’t know what they spend their time on. Our passing has been so bad for so long with so many different players I can only conclude this coaching staff either can’t or isn’t interested in fundamentals. And I am really tired of our inability to cover dumps.

I'd feel for Fletcher, but once Barton is back, I'd like to see Barton/Wilmes on the left, Bush/Endsley on the right. Definitely keep subbing Heard in for one of the outsides.

I think they're talking about the 'set' and not the entire match, where the Illini had like 8 opportunities at set point, like 4 of which were on serve receive.

Krista got a very warm reception from the crowd when introduced just before the match. A lot of us stood up and clapped. Yes she did, and why wouldn’t she? My point is that there is a job to be done and it is not getting done. While passing is an issue we can not get the ball on the ground against decent teams. That is 100% her responsilbity as the outside/pin coach and we were not good at all- stats don’t lie. I have met her, she is a very nice person. Is she doing well at her job right now? That is up for debate I guess. :-/
