Full credit to Nebraska for beating Stanford and Louisville, but I just think Penn State has looked rather great all non-conference with the exception of the loss to Pitt. But Pitt has destroyed everyone. They haven't dropped a set yet. I think Nebraska will look like the better team by December, but I'm not voting based on a hunch or a prediction. |

Why is Louisville being ranked below Creighton when they won the H2H? I’d swap them for 5 and 6, but I think the Top 4 is right. Because H2H isn't everything. By that logic SMU needs be rated ahead of Nebraska |

Why is Louisville being ranked below Creighton when they won the H2H? I’d swap them for 5 and 6, but I think the Top 4 is right. I can speak for me and me alone. I have credit to creighton for surviving a brutal weekend, while Louisville fell flat, so blame it on recency bias. Plus the win over creighton was basically a 5 set draw, so with that razor thin margin, I gave it to creighton. I had the exact same rationale. You can look at the H2H (which was a good game), but you have to look at what's happened since then too. |
