All this. The continuity in the setting connection will be key. Plus, I like Reese a tad bit better at the opposite position than Sofia as an attacker/blocker. I also think if anyone struggles, you have either Reese or Sofia to sub in. Sofia is versatile and can sub at OH if needed as well. Agree w yall. Also if they decide to use Sofia as their main opp, they can just do the double sub like they did with Robbins last year. Also helps Cresse run the slide more efficiently.

Idk why Hambly hasn’t played Cawa more that would at least help them solve one of their problems I do not, for the life of me, understand this. She’s the answer but he doesn’t want to hear it. Blows my mind.

Stanford DSs playing like I do during my Sunday recreational games in my London volleyball gay league That's one issue, but I think the biggest issue today for Stanford was their weak almost non-existent right side blocking and secondarily their lack of terminal pin hitting. L'ville had RR and Cresse blocking Rubin and they were able to shut her down for the most part, and the other two pins for Stanford couldn't buy a kill.

Stanford looks terrible. I question hambly as a coach who can get his team to max. He was lucky he landed plummer and that class to pull his title. He isn't coaching these.kids up. You may be right, I may be crazy What can he do? His pin hitters don't have much height and that affects their ability to terminate and block. He also has a very young middle who is turtle slow to close the block and who looks confused reading the opposing team's setter. To answer my own question about the only major thing he could do is switch Harvey and Kurt. He could also try using other defensive specialists, like Cawa, which might not help in the short term but might yield a positive return by the end of the season.

The sooner they get floor time, the better.

Literally no one who knows him thinks that Hambly has a great VB mind. His appeal for Stanford was in his demeanor, which some thought would be sufficient to maintain Stanford’s recruiting edge. His players literally do not improve much at all during their time with him as coach. I agree with this. He stalled his kids at Illinois as well. Agreed lots of great talent and could recruit buy couldnt get then there

Louisville, Stanford, Texas - teams I just can't get a grip on. Probably because they all have a big range of play and haven't got a grip on themselves. Will be very interesting to see how they all progress and where they are once the tournament rolls around. Obviously they all have huge upside potential - but can they unleash it.

Was hambly a good hire for Stanford? 🤔 Well, they went to three Final Fours and won two titles in his first three seasons. I'm not sure just any coach could have gotten that result even with that ridiculously loaded team. That said, it remains an open question whether he can build a great team of his own. So far, the answer is "no."
