I'm at the point where I now feel bad for Haworth. She should've transferred... not a single strong, B10 quality pin (who can pass) has been recruited in her 4 years. Saris and CAC seem like amazing, hardworking people and athletes, to be fair. Avry Tatum is a strong OPP, and she brings the FIRE. I love that.
If you have Gary and Maple passing, Haworth setting, and no one to kill the ball (other than Tatum) it's unfortunate.

A different kind of pain to watch Indiana lose a point in which they got three (3) free balls

A different kind of pain to watch Indiana lose a point in which they got three (3) free balls You know, it's been a long time being a fan. I think I give up.

I’m delulu and will stick around for the players (can’t get on the Aird train), but to one of your earlier points, it’s a damn shame that we had/have athletes like Bre Edwards, Cam, and Ramsey show such loyalty to the program without being able to develop the pieces around them.

Back from the match. I have to admit I was a little concerned when I saw both Barton and Fletcher in street clothes. I assumed that meant that Bush would be playing six rotations and participating in at least some serve receive, and Endsley would probably do some serve receive duty as well. This was correct. I'd also heard about some tough servers for Indiana.
Not to worry. The Huskies team identity came through strongly tonight: excellent blocking and total team defense, limiting the Hoosiers to .149 hitting and a sideout percentage of 55%. Our pin hitting didn't really miss a beat despite losing, arguably, our two best pin hitters. And somewhat surprisingly, serve receive was not bad. Not great, but better than we saw a couple weeks ago against WSU and UC-Davis. UW was in no real jeopardy in any of the sets.
I'm going to single out Audra Wilmes for a really fine all-around game. This is the best I've seen Wilmes play. Consistently good serve receive, extremely low error hitting (1), while hitting for power. Plus solid serving. It was also heartening to see Bush rise to the occasion with strong net play (we missed her block so much last year!) and high percentage hitting.
It was also a pleasure to watch Haworth for Indiana. Some classy setting, athletic play, and great leadership. Unfortunately for her, the only hitter who came through consistently was Ava Vickers, an undersized middle listed as six feet tall but looking more like 5'10".
Although Illinois took it on the chin tonight against Oregon, I expect a well-coached Illini team to put up a fight tomorrow night. Perhaps the toughest match of the season so far.
Watching Barton and Fletcher on the bench, it was hard to detect any injury to either one. Barton actually seemed pretty spry in her movement. Not sure what the issues might be.

Very efficient match for the Huskies tonight. Great numbers. Ill will provide a tougher match for sure. Terry is hard to stop/slow down. If Huskies can serve strong and have their block game on, they should prevail, but Ill has a couple of strong servers, and Wash can't afford to let them go on too many service runs. This could be a close battle. Hope Huskies can pull it out.
