Another Sold Out match here! I hope Purdue is ready for this. Wow! I'll have to update the note on the "attend" ticket-buying link! Yes the tickets are now only available in Seat Geek.

Normally, I might be Minnesota Pessimistic (an adjunct to Minnesota Nice) and think that Gophers will have a comedown after a big win and drop this match. But I think Minnesota will win. Purdue does have extra motivation given their recent group of losses and dropping their conference opener, and of course Purdue is a very good team, but I still think MN will find a way.

The poll results were definitely mostly taken after Wednesday’s matches ended. 😅

The poll results were definitely mostly taken after Wednesday’s matches ended. 😅 Yeah. I think it makes sense - "if we can beat 7 at home, why not 10 (or whatever Purdue is ranked)." But that's not really a big gap and Purdue could be a substantively different matchup - as Keegan alluded to in his B1G Network interview this week. Nothing wrong with being positive.

I can’t recall when Purdue has had 2 consecutive poor performances. Shondell and Jewell have been doing this for so long and will know how to coach this team up. I am hoping for a good and competitive match. Minnesota is a very good team and just won against Wisconsin. Let’s see which Purdue team shows up tonight. Cannot wait to watch on my tv

Cannot wait to watch on my tv Picture it: the year is 2022. Purdue welcomes Maryland for a home match in mid-October. A match Purdue should easily win. They get swept. At home. They go on to be destroyed by Nebraska at home 3 days later. Then lose to Minnesota in Minnesota, a team Purdue swept during the B1G opener. Followed by dropping a 5-setter to Northwestern. Not saying all of those were poor performances, but they weren't great either. Also not saying that's what's happening here... but it has happened. I'm sure Coach Shondell and Jewell are giving the team all the tools they need to be successful. But man oh man this team needs to execute and be relentless because Minnesota never stops swinging.

That is scary… I will always appreciate that class of Ellis/Koch/Chinn/Renner for what they contributed to Purdue to help them reach new heights but.... oof when we needed them, it wasn't pretty. They were a highly ranked recruiting class. But those positions were like a revolving door. No one ever really “won” their position. I really liked watching Emma Ellis play. She was so nice. She really helped the community and coached up local high school boys on their volleyball teams. They said she helped them love volleyball.
