we get to watch her play for the Rise!
That's awesome, I didn't know she was getting back into playing! Was reminded that she's been coaching at Western Kentucky when I saw her on the sideline for a recent match.
I really liked those Purdue teams with Otec, M Hornung, Newton, Bush, and co.

I will always appreciate that class of Ellis/Koch/Chinn/Renner for what they contributed to Purdue to help them reach new heights but.... oof when we needed them, it wasn't pretty. They were a highly ranked recruiting class. But those positions were like a revolving door. No one ever really βwonβ their position. I really liked watching Emma Ellis play. She was so nice. She really helped the community and coached up local high school boys on their volleyball teams. They said she helped them love volleyball. Oh I didn't know that about Emma!! Thats wonderful. She always had the biggest smile when she was on the court. Just lit the world up.

I am curious to see how Purdue will handle MN tough serving. Based on the passing numbers I saw of Purdue, I have to admit that I was a bit surprised by how low those passing numbers are.
Just excited to see this sold out match in person tonight!

Her defense makes it hard to score. She can frustrate hitters into making unforced errors.

I think both teams will play a very gritty match and I donβt expect less. If Purdue cannot pass at a decent rate, Z will be all over the two OHs just like she did with Franklin.

Emma Ellis may not have been the strongest OH but she was such a joy to watch, pure happiness on the court π₯° That was fun Purdue team

History favors the Gophers. *Recent* history... not so much.

All four setters are warming up. (This is usual.. not an indicator of a non-Mel start.)
Looks like Wookie won't be playing. Mostly dressed for warm-ups, but no socks, and not normal court shoes. And... not warming up.
