Uff that was a tough match to watch! Probably the worst passing game I have seen from the Gophers. MN just cannot seem to pass those serves from Colvin and Mcaleer. It’s just wild to see in person. Well I hope that Keegan knows what he needs to do for the rest of the season.

Cook made some changes, he had just Z and Kate passing at one point, I'd have to rewatch to see when that started and how long it lasted I think there were a few changes before that too. At one point I remember him telling Acevedo to move up and out of the passing pattern and he might've pulled Hanson (who was back row and not passing) into the pattern. I feel like he was trying but when everyone is struggling and you have limited options, it's tough. I just wonder why he didn’t try Lydia passing in some rotations. I thought she used to pass at Cal. Maybe I misremembered.

Switching to 2 passers when one was aced about 4 times is probably not the answer lol no one else was passing well, Z can't take the whole court Why not?

To my memory, Purdue has *always* dug the heck out of us. Same tonight, 79 to 61.
Getting aced 17 times doesn’t help.

Someone in the Gopher thread asked how Colvin has performed against us over the years, figured I'd share here for the Purdue fans whom I like. Not as brutal as I remembered besides the last two matches. Quite the player though. The two recent matches are enough nightmare fuel. Colvin ends her career 5-1 against the Gophers and 3-1 in Minneapolis. I say "ends" because I'm manifesting NOT running into Purdue if we both make it to week 2 of the tournament 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Result column is Gopher result. Gold rows are matches @ Minnesota | Result | k-e-a | % | Aces | BS + BA | Points |

I feel like Keegan should adopt some of Patches O'Houlihan's dodgeball training techniques to solve serve receive. "Remember the 5 D's, duck, dive, don't dodge, don't dodge, don't dodge" and "If you can serve receive a wrench you can serve receive anything."

Someone posted on Facebook this was the most aces against the Gophers since 1987. Is that accurate ?

Gosh this was entertaining it did not disappoint. Huge win for Purdue who was on a slide they showed they can play for stretches was really such a close call. Chicoine needs to be better. Colvin really went off.
Minnesota are this years 5 set queens they will be a terrible match up for whoever gets them in the tourney cause on any given night they can play with anyone. What a fun season to be a gopher fan.

Kudos to Purdue for their serving. That's the simple recipe against MN (although execution is another thing), and I realize against the Gophers it's a fairly low bar. The poor quality of ball control was astonishing, actually. I don't think Purdue did anything particularly well. They received better than MN (again, low bar), but not great. Got the ball to Colvin regularly, but not as much as they should have. They had three good servers. I can only imagine how it would've been had Wucherer had to touch a ball in the back row... Had she touched a ball, it might have been a step up. Way too many serves went totally untouched. It's weird how our digging has improved so much, but our service reception has almost gotten worse. At times, it felt like a colvinoscopy.

Sorry, I didn't see Wucherer's stat for Minn. What happened to her?
