An area without a college men's team. Am I right?
Attendance is going to be horrible.
Genius move. Why?

An area without a college men's team. Am I right? Attendance is going to be horrible. Genius move. Why? Not only is Vegas easy to get to it has other attractions during the week leading up to the finals. It's within driving distance of GCU, all the SoCal schools and BYU basically a 5hr drive. A 19k seat arena leading up to the 2028 Olympics hosted in a town most people aren't going to object travelling to isn't a horrible idea.

Besides the teams that make it and their families that go no matter where it is held. The crowds will be small ensuring no revenue. Maybe by then ESPN will be able to generate an AI crowd so it looks not empty.

The point I was trying to make is that Hawai’i fans would go regardless of whether their team is in it because Las Vegas is practically a suburb.

Vegas is great when someone else is paying for your hotel and meals. In our 8 years of club volleyball, USAV Nationals in Vegas was by far the most expensive tournament we ever attended. The only location remotely close to Vegas was Chicago. But even as expensive as Chicago has become, Vegas was still a couple of thousand $$'s more expensive to attend the tournament.

Did you lose a ton of money betting there? Because lodging is incredibly cheap compared to most large cities.

Great! No more puny arenas and home court advantage for some teams. Bigger venue to adequately host a championship that this sport deserves.

So Hawaii didn't get it to serve as host in 2027 or 2028. But tbh......Las Vegas hosting it is a God send for all Hawaii fans. 100k+ Hawaii transplants as well and many here still follow UH sports most especially men's and women's volleyball. The Hawaii fanbase will come in hoards. Whether they get in or not.
