This back court is so tragic.

I didn’t like keeping Crowl in back row - hurt more than it helped. Get healthy MN.

I’m surprised Minnesota hasn’t been swept with this atrocious passing I'll give Minnesota a star on the Hollywood Walk of Shame for tonight's passing performance.

Quite surprised that wasn't a quick sweep. Minnesota digressing. This. I don’t agree with the “it’s a long trip” excuse. MN is not the same team they were a few weeks ago. Their offense needs a lot of work. Defense has disappeared. Not serving nearly as tough as they were. They have a lot of work to do.

literally where did this come from Maybe a change in coaching/system? She showed great offensive variety even in the ending sequence to help her team get the set 4 victory!

Did Keegan leave two TOs unused this match? I mean yeah the players have to play. If you don’t want to talk to them and want them to learn a lesson and figure it out on their own why not call a TO and let them talk while you look grumpy?
Not blaming him but idk. Seems weird to leave them hanging out to dry like that

LOL! You would think all this time spent operating out of system in matches would sharpen the shots but it hasn't lol I lean towards them just not having the talent on the roster to make those things a reality. Don’t really see anyone with any hitting range or out of system abilities on the roster outside of maybe Grote. The defense and passing suck. Need some more roster turnover and some impact additions over the next couple of years. I’m still somewhat skeptical of the coaching staff but will give it another 2 years before I cast any judgement there. Again, I lean towards it just being not having the necessary talent on the roster. I cannot agree that Minnesota, of all programs, doesn't have the talent/stable of hitters who don't know how to manage their offense. Something needs to happen in the practice gym because I'm seeing the same shot selection (either hard or a high tip) from many of the pins. Yes the passing and defense is suspect but in this set 4, I saw the passing at least getting the ball up for Mel who wasn't at her best but definitely not terrible.

3rd set: MN timeout down 2-8. No media timeout since a TO was called before a team reached 15 points. No second TO used by Minnesota.
4th set: media TO at 14-15 then MN TO 15-18. No second TO used.
That’s assuming play-by-play is accurate.
Again, not diminishing the loss to being a “coaching loss” but leaving two TOs on the table is notable. Yikes.
Congrats to USC. They looked incredible at times.

Even taking into account that west coast/late night games are tough, I've seen enough games to recognize who they are. They'll finish 11-9, maybe 12-8, in conference, go on the road for the tourney and lose on the first weekend. But I'll still watch them because I enjoy watching Grote, Hanson, Shaff, Phoebe, etc. It's just that their back row is SO bad and I don't see that getting fixed.

Yes, the passing and back row is terrible, but I do think it’s still possible to go 15-5 or 14-6
