Hello all, I would like to make an early prediction on where everyone will be ranked this year for pre season polls. My rankings for the Big West, MPSF, and Miva are as follows:
Big West
1. Long Beach
2. Hawaii
3. UC Irvine
4. CSun
5. UCSB
6. UCSD
MPSF (Not positive on who will be in the conference this year)
1. UCLA
2. BYU
3. USC
4. Stanford
5. GCU
6. Pepperdine
7. Concordia
Miva
1. Ball State
2. Loyola
3. Lewis
4. Ohio State
5. Mckendree
6. Lindenwood
7. Purdue Fort Wayne
8. Queens
9. Quincy
Please share your own preseason predictions in this thread. Also post your predictions with the other conferences that I left out of here.

Also post your predictions with the other conferences that I left out of here. Good list! I think USC might edge out BYU, the recent recruiting classes are good enough to override the USC curse. Also I like UCSB over CSUN, they have a lot of seniors and are due. |

I think USC has to show something before climbing. Respect is earned. This isn't the first roster they've had littered with "Top recruits". Problem with top recruits is sometimes you get them at their ceiling. Happy to elevate the trojans as they win matches, but as they've proven over and over, games aren't played on paper.

I think that it’s a combination of them having lots of potential, plus a lot of other teams not likely being as good |

This is exactly why I put them where they are. They’ve been speculated every year to be very good, but never produce with the amount of talent they have. |

I think that it’s a combination of them having lots of potential, plus a lot of other teams not likely being as good Yes, I am not overly excited about BYU and also this USC roster on paper can be close to UCLA but I have co sidereal the USC factor and think they are a full step below UCLA but still better than BYU will be. |

Who is going to play libero for UC Irvine?
I thoughtt Karlous was done but I saw he is on the roster. Do they have a taller option at setter if they need one?
Any transfers or freshmen likely to make an impact for them this year?
IWho will be their middles?

They had Power and Tangutur last year when passing went awry. They need to replace those two and hope that one of the younger setters step up in place of Sheward. Karlous is a liability in the front row can't hide him against good teams. |

UC Irvine returns Henno, Flexen, D'Arcy, Grigoriev, and Karlous... I'd put them at #1 for BWC I’m surprised you’d put them over Hawaii or LBSU. When I watched Flexen play over the summer, his passing was genuinely awful, along with his defense. Unless that dramatically improved, I don’t see them being able to be as competitive because they lost Power |

All the top teams lost some key pieces and have some big pieces coming in that will need to mesh with the returnees to be successful.
The preseason ranking at this point is a crapshot. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see UCI #2 or even #1 based on who LBSU and Hawaii lost.
The end of season rankings could be a lot different, but until play starts i think there are a lot of questions for whomever starts in the top 5.
