Also: About 3% of Turkey's landmass is in Europe, while the majority of the country is in Asia: Region Area Europe 23,764 sq km (9,174 sq mi) Asia 755,688 sq km (291,773 sq mi) 3% is a negligible amount AND turkey isn't in the EU, so this not European.

I always consider Turkey a European country because they're in the European sub region of the World Cup. And the World Cup is a big deal.

They consider themselves to play in Europe.

Not being in the EU doesn't mean the country isn't European. 🙄 England isn't in the EU either, so....it's not Europe either by Maigrey logic. But most of it is considered on the continent of Europe. That's the primary ranking. And the UK WAS in the EU, so that counts
