I don’t think you’re going to see NIL impact in the way that you’ll see more aggressive recruiting tactics. It’s pretty well honored in college VB that a kid who verbally commits is left alone by other schools. But that definitely is no longer the case in FB or MBB, kids are actively recruiting by schools right up until signing day. I could see that getting to us. Cause you don’t need money to keep working angles. I have absolutely no inside knowledge but I highly doubt the late Ayden Ames flip last year was Ames cold calling Texas to see if they had room for her. It’s already happening in vball. Ya. That's a great point. Imagine we'll see more '26 verbals flip before signing day. And that gradually increasing. |

The timing of her flip last October/November prior to NSD proves she did her due diligence as she watched what her future competition for instant playing time would be. |

Someone clearly missed the point of the post they were responding to. There was no criticism at all of her decision to flip. It made sense for her to do it. It was simply to point out that it was very likely Texas maintained contact and continued to make it clear there was a place for her there even after her initial verbal commit which is what football and basketball do. Vball is already starting to do what football and basketball have been doing for years. |
